Worked around a Vista permissions using (gasp!) the temp folder to write (shock!) temp data.

Finally got a way to get Dame to produce txt files so I don't have to redraw the map. So that means I can now add hundreds of spikes to the level for the player to die on. Yay!

XAudio2 was nice and simple to get working. I'm glad ye olde DirectX is dead aside from Direct3D.

Finally fixed a bug that has been annoying me for two years and three games. It had to do with a little quirk where Game Maker only remembers the last key you pressed when changing rooms. So if you are pressing two keys when you change rooms, it will only remember the last one.

See the grumpy old programmer room for my latest expression of joy (controversial, isn't it?).

I finally finished and released the game I've been working on for 5 months. It feels like a huge weight has been lifted on my shoulders  Smiley

Congratulations!

I want to release my game too. ):
I have to make a new schedule, now that my last milestone (the level editor, as said above) has been reached.

2D shadow casting works! Beer!

(the green stuff are walls, not grass, really! As soon as I get real sprites that is)

You know that thing where you have two bugs at once the symptoms and/or code of which overlap, creating the impression of a single bug that proves unusually tricky to track down?

Well... I've just finished debugging a problem that turned out to involve four overlapping bugs. It took three days and wasn't much fun.
So now I think it's time for a cup of tea and and biscuit! Coffee

You should upgrade it to a pint of lager and a pork pie
