That was great. Now someone needs to make that game exist.

Actually, the first time I heard of Paul Robertson was when I saw a music video he did for Architecture in Helsinki on the local NYC channel.

Yeah holy shit that was awesome. Alex Kidd pissed me off as a kid though. I was like "What the fuck, all the bosses just want to play rock paper scissors."

The game part is probably by the maestro himself, but the very beginning, that black/white part is probably done by another Mecha Fetus artist, Persona. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o44_NA3syKASuper cool, as always.

YEAH! Gosh darn people who make awesome animations! What a jerk! Well I do get kind of pissy when awesome artists start promoting commercial products, I know that's how the world works, and I'll most definitely also work for advertising in the future, but you know, it makes me kind of sad that nowadays this seems to be the only way that artists and designers can still make money and get some exposure. The animation is still cool though, but the "DRINK SYKE KIDS, IT'S RAD AND HIP" thing turns me off.

As a videogame homage, it was awesome. As a piece of animation, it was cool. As an advertisement for an energy drink, it was horribly ineffective.

I don't see why one would get angry about it. Paul gets money to do more of his awesome stuff, they seem to have given him tons of leeway so he could do this awesome stuff and get paid for it, and television viewers get to see excellent Paul Robertson animation instead of the standard commercial crap.
Everyone wins!

What he said. He also apparently did work on a game called Lock's Quest, which I would totally buy if I had a DS and money. Commercial work is not a bad thing- don't be a starving artist!
