Elementria



Hi.
here is my game called elementria with the demo complete so you can check the download below.
elementria is a game that combines shooter features like : aiming, shooting at enemies ,moving
around the map with the keyboard , with rpg features : using different elemental skills and abilities
as weapons against enemies, while dodging attacks and leveling your character for stronger
abilities.

in the game, you have several elemental abilities you can use to fight against enemies.
the elements consist of for example : water, fire, laser, poison, ice, electricity and etc.
and you can use them in different ways as attacks(and as defenses in later updates..).

for example : you can create water+beam to create a water beam ability that damages an enemy
and makes it soaked in water which then you can create ice+thrown ability to
throw a kinda like ball of ice on the enemy, freezing him
which makes him slower and unable to use his abilities against you.
you can create aura+poison that damages close enemies near you, while you fight other enemies.
you can create fists+lava, fists+ice to make a punching ability which also freezing the enemy
or setting him on fire in addition to giving him punching damage.



the final demo of the game has a lot more new features compared to my other updates
and it also pretty much the final demo.
the main things that were improved/added :
        * ability crafting.
        * level gaining.
        * improved abilities.
        * saving feature.
        * dodging and defense.
        * sounds.
        * continuous damage and effect.

still some handful amount of stuff i thought about adding in the future for later
updates so it will be added depending on the support i have for the game.. Beer!
and thats it. if you found any bugs or if some abilities are way stronger compared to other abilities
then feel free to point that out. also if you have any criticism at all i will be happy to hear it and improve.

Controls :
   - wasd : movement.
   - mouse : left click - 1st move.
             right click - 2nd move.     
             left + right - 1st second move.
             right + left - 2nd second move.
   
   - 1,2,3,4,5 : swap 1st move.
   - space : quick dodge.
                  or you can just use teleport ability by picking it(its the weird purple like ball).
        - m key : abilities menu. you can craft abilities and replace your quick picks.
        - t key : pause menu. you can go back to the start menu from there or check the info menu
                  to see the levels you gained.

Unfortunately, I only get a window with default grey/white background. Nothing shows up. I can close the window, but pressing inside does nothing.

Windows 7, 64-bit. Just reinstalled the latest versions of Java 64-bit and 32-bit.

Well, I can't tell you if it works on a different version of Windows, but I can confirm that it's not working in Windows 7 (64-bit) for me either.

updated some stuff:
 - The game starts with a "start" button.
 - The game ends with "Game over" words and the score is printed.

Okay, so here are my thoughts I had while playing

-Why do I have a discrete health bar of hearts when all the damage is in numbers?
-What is 7 damage? is that a lot, is it a little? It doesn't take a heart so I guess it isn't that much. In fact does that affect me at all? I can't tell.
-Why am I randomly turning blue?
-Why do the zombies teleport when I hit them
-Am I supposed to fight the other mages?
-I can't tell what any of these spells do
-The zombies don't look like they are hitting me when they damage me.
-I can't find a reason not to use to fireball spell, it's just so good.
-Do my spells use mana?
-I can't tell what the purple spell does.
-Is there something I'm supposed to be doing? Because I'm just running around fireballing things. Nothing can really touch me at this point.
-I think I'm also supposed to be able to cast sub-spells, but I can't figure out how to trigger it.

This game could be very good. You've got the tech, and you're going in the right direction. But it needs a lot of polish to make it work. Get everybody you know to playtest this thing, and listen to what they say. I look forward to how this turns out!

hi.
so i wanted to hear some criticism / thoughts about the finished demo of my game.
made a quick update from the v0.5.

* added some sounds.
* improved map.
* laser beam goes through enemies unlike other beams.
* you can now press dodge to unfreeze/un-electrify yourself if you got hit from enemies.
* more balanced fire abilities with mana usage and damage.
