Yes the jump in resolution is almost like a different art medium!

Yeah, movements can't be as exagerated as they were before with a bigger sized sprite.

Just an example of what could be done with it:

Quite rough atm, hopefully it'll get smoother as time goes on.

Thanks for the comment! Apologies for the lack of updates, been a bit busy atm.

I have been working on my anatomy again, trying to make the medium base look better.

Here's a comparison between the previous version and current one i am working on (the last two have only differences in terms of the right arm):

I:
Broadened the shoulders.
Raised the neck, as it looked like it had none.
Changed the legs, basically made them look like actual legs and tried to show the calves as well.
Changed the feet.
Changed the chest, I felt it didn't look good enough to me.
Changed the arms, tried to shape them like actual arms, unsure if they look like such (I definitely know there is an issue with the right arm however).

My current issues:

I fear the uh, pecs look too much like breasts, but im unsure of how to represent them without there being any ambiguity.

Unsure of what to do with the feet.

Unsure of what to do with the right arm, i know it has to be occluded by the chest, but to what degree?

Tried animating them, just a test:

Tried to make him seem eager, without him looking like he's stretching unnaturally like the previous version.

Apologies for the lack of updates since the last post, i currently have this:

I:

Reworked the stance
Dealt with some anatomy issues
Made him sway forwards and rise up when he sways back, rather than the awkward action he had previously

Apologies for the for lack of posting recently, I've still been doing pixel-art, but it's mainly been studying anatomy and trying to replicate what i've learnt so far. Here's a rough update on my progression:

Most notable changes:

Arm is more defined
Feet are more flatter
Tried to make it look more upright (so the arm wasn't floating in a weird way)
Tried to define the stomach more

And here's my most recent update: (Number 1/Blue is the newest version,Number 2/Red is previous version)

A few changes:

Height is higher
Neck is more refined and visible
Stomach is different
Calves are higher

Sorry for also spending so much time on the base, at this point it's more of a general anatomy thing then pixel-art, but im interested in seeing if it can translate into pixel-art medium. I do feel im learning more and finding better ways of representing limbs, the body etc, but it's still a long way to go before it's anywhere near good.

A quick update, been mainly working on the larger base, as i found it easier to put more details on it, but i will also include the medium sized one's update as well:

All great updates. Like he new pose, my only gripe is that the breath animation feels unnatural, with the guy leaning backwards. I would recommend recorindg yourself attempting such an animation to get the gist on how shit works togheter.
