I don't quite know what this is all about, but I seem to be too late. Sad
Assuming hideous is going to join us, there's one place left.  Modify your post above to link to a piece of prior work, and I'll write you up a brief.

and no instrument is to play the same note twice (you can repeat something an octave up if you want, and different instruments can play the same notes).

Is that even possible? Wouldn't you need the same notes to form musical sentences? Otherwise, it would be like a continuous progression? Or am I missing something?

Oh man, I can't believe I missed this! Is there still time for me to join? If so, I submit 'Classroom', which is on my MySpace page. It's in 7/4 timing!

Do your worst!

Sure.  If you take a piano as an instrument, you have, what, over eighty possible notes?

Lets say you take three instruments with similar ranges, that's 240 possible notes: more than enough to make up a minute-long piece of music.  If you find that limiting, you can introduce more instruments still.

Also, I'm interested to know what you mean by 'musical sentence'.

Synnah, I have added a brief to the list.

Okay, people, a lot of people seem to be only noticing this thread now.  I'm reopening the entry phase until midnight GTM tonight.  If you wish to enter, just post a link to an existing work.

I don't want to disappoint anyone, after all.

Synnah, please write a piece of length no shorter than two minutes and thirty seconds.  The piece is to be of electronica genre (no acoustic instruments), styled on the mazurkas of Chopin.

I was thinking, 'Great, I've been meaning to do some symphonic stuff for an electronic arrangement for a while!'.

And then I listened to one of the mazurkas. WTF Holy jesus, that shit's complex! This should be interesting.

I submit "julesang".  Though, since that's based on an existing song (did it for the ludum dare christmas album), if you want something more original, there's "the phone rings 41 times"..

5 tunes instruments?
Not 'tunes', 'tuned'.  Learn to read.

No.  You are only allowed to used tuned percussion.

I used pxtone.

C418, excuse my oversight.  I have added your brief to the original list.  As I have TwiTerror's and mjau's.

Excuse me, I can't find any more photographs of myself to hand, so here's one of my distant cousin, Mistress Sandra:
