ShapeDown
Test Your Reflexes and Ability to Love Your Significant Other!

>>> Play ShapeDown <<<

>>> Release Trailer! <<<

In ShapeDown, a player is presented with a single gameplay mechanic--rotating a puzzle block--and a single goal--letting the falling shapes land into the correct hole. Mixed with increasingly speedy gameplay and some super phat beats, ShapeDown is the game this city wants, but doesn’t yet deserve.

ShapeDown was created by myself, Eric Winebrenner, with music and SFX by Jack Yeates. We are both members of Sundae Month, a recently established student-run production based out of Burlington, Vermont. Sundae Month will be releasing one small game like ShapeDown every month for the rest of forever, in addition to our larger projects,like
Levity

Stay tuned for more games!

I played your game. It was fun. Any reason you decided to hide the fourth option off-screen in the menu?

How does Sundae Month balance between releasing these games each month vs. the time spent on Levity?

The decision to put the arcade mode in the game was a last minute decision!

As far as Sundae Month balancing these game releases...here's just the press release we wrote for explaining Sundae Month and the game cycling/month games to journalists and friends.

Sundae Month is a student collective of game developers. We met least year and liked each others' game development work. We all have very different development styles and in turn made very different games. Matt Rohr (Levity) enjoys making artistic puzzle games, Ryan Huggins (Boatventure) enjoys making action arcade games and James Shasha (Not On My Planet!) likes all sorts of innovative, progressive games and agendas. We felt that our varying styles and preferences would yield interesting collaborations, so we started Sundae Month.

We split into teams and started working on three main big projects. Levity(http://www.levitygame.com/), Boatventure(http://siifour.blogspot.com/ and http://boatventure.sundaemonth.com/blog/) and NOMP! (which has no dev log yet).

We still found ourselves wanting to do smaller games while working on the bigger projects though, so we came up with the Sundae Project - "One game every month for the rest of forever!” We each take turns taking one month out of our larger project’s development cycle to work on a smaller project.

We hope to release a lot of different types of games that span a wide range of genres. The Sundae Project is kinda of like a long form game jam. The day the last game is released the next one goes into development. We have already started working on next Month’s game.
