I seem to be making a portal ripoff. What are you guys making?
I got this flash of Helios driving his sun-chariot through space with planets on leads sort of like walking a whole pack of dogs that are swirling around you. So I'm trying to make something out of that. I'm thinking he's like a moving company: "Star going nova? Neighborhood not what it used to be? Let us whisk you away to a new one, lock, stock, and planet." But I've never done a jam before, don't have a lot of time this weekend, and I'm still struggling to get the mechanics where I want them, so we'll see if I get it playable enough to submit... But I'm having fun with it. Edit: Meh. Fail. I didn't quite manage 7 hours of work (was expecting to have 10 or 12), and that just wasn't enough time (for me) to have something very playable... But that's OK. I don't think I'm much of a game competition person. Even without having any practice, I didn't feel like it was particularly difficult to make a game in a short period of time. And I kept wondering why I was wasting time making a game based on a random theme from the internet instead of something that actually mattered to me. The brainstorming ideas part was fun, but I do that sort of thing all the time anyway. So it was interesting, and I'm glad I took a stab at it, but I doubt I'll bother with it again...

Nice first 3D effort. Really struggled to get started so ended up wasting most the first day. Ended up deciding on making a simple dating gameshow where different beings from different worlds compete to make a connection with the bachelor. Wish I'd had more time to put more depth with the responses but starting running out of time. LINK - Zanlings Match - Connected Worlds

http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-30/?action=preview&uid=5172Not super happy with it; I really ran out of time. Spent a big chunk of the 48 hours trying to wrangle Blender since I'd completely forgotten how to use it from last LD. Didn't get around to music or SFX either. Still happy that I stuck it out, though!

http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-30/?action=preview&uid=38832Unfortunately due to technical difficulties with MMF2 I can only offer a windows file, I'm a bit worried that this prevents lots of potential players from playing the game, but not much I can do at this time. Maybe in a couple of days if I have time I can work on solving this issue... Anyways If you have a few minutes to spare it would be awesome if you check it out. Loved all the games posted in this thread so far, great job everybody

I envy you keo, making such good looking pixel art in a short time, I'd need a day to make a decent tile Also the bachelor game sounds hilarious hah. Here's my entry, it's called Azure and it takes place on a tiny island. I wish I had some more time to polish some aspects, especially the music and the sounds, which have been rushed.

TethernumManaged to finish in time even though I had a mental breakdown right before the end when my girlfriend trivialized the whole game strategy by just randomly clicking. Then I iterated on the concept and managed to turn it into a pretty sweet game. Hella difficult though. LudumDare game page: I hope you like it and can't wait to try everyone else's entries

http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-30/?action=preview&uid=22583I made a hardcore randomly-generated platforming experience/fish-jumping simulator. You climb up into a portal repeatedly in search of the one universe that has an actual ground. I'm pretty satisfied with how it turned out, but I wish I'd had the time to make some variation between levels.

I've played so many awesome games already today. Seems like a really high standard all round. Hypnohustler's softly floating turd has been a highlight so far. I'm quite pleased with my own entry this year. Actual honest-to-goodness gameplay has never been my strong point so I decided to do a platformer/shooter and I think it turned out pretty well, although opinions are divided on the controls. If anyone would like to check it out, here 'tis: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-30/?action=preview&uid=21166

Well I finished my first Ludum Dare submission: Dude Launch ----------- Ludum Dare page: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-30/?action=preview&uid=41893Direct link: http://smizmeal.itch.io/dude-launch----------- Launch Dudes to the Moon! (safely) The central mechanic is to follow the moon using your boat, then position the ladder to launch dudes into the gravity of the low-orbiting moon. Try not to lose your dudes to the deadly moon or rolling tides: I was really inspired by the "connected worlds" theme to make something silly and fun. I'm a programmer, not an artist, so I embraced it and made an arcade-y type game. My biggest inspiration was a story by Italo Calvino (La Luna by Pixar is based on it http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120217231001/pixar/images/2/21/La-Luna-Ladder.jpg). And another was the old DOS game called Night Raid: Next time I think it would be fun to team with an artist and do the Ludum Dare Jam instead of the Compo. By the way, I'm new to TIGForums (just posted in the Obligatory Introduction thread), and I'm really just blown away by the level of quality of the work here. Here's looking forward to future game jams and learning from your progress threads!

As soon as I saw your screenshot I thought of Calvino's Cosmicomics! I'm going to go and play it now.

Here is mine, called NECLiD. All in all, it's a sokoban-style puzzle with impossible space (or, if you prefer, non-euclidean) stuff. Made in 26 hours for Compo.

Congratulation to you all. Unfortunately I didn't acheive to finish this time Probably that the concept was too big and that I was not dedicated enough.
