Community members at GameDev.net are currently arranging a contest to be run for one week during September -- the specific dates are still to be decided, but it's looking like it will be later in the month.

The contest is open to individuals or teams and challenges participants to create a game within 1 week.

Thanks to the donations of a number of GDNet regulars the following prizes are currently being offered for the winners:

• 1st Prize: USD$400
• 2nd Prize: USD$150
• 3rd Prize: USD$100
• 4th Prize: USD$25

This is an unofficial contest organised by long time GDNet community members, not by the site staff.
