Hi,

We're currently looking for a marketer. Local only, someone who can come with me to various events and be my wingman. If you are a writer, that's great too, we definitely need someone to write the stories for our games.

Upfront, we are poor. We're looking mostly for someone to work part time in exchange for revenue share based on experience and hours worked. More then happy to discuss a full time arrangement too if you like.

Our ideal candidate is a recent graduate or student who loves video games, is aware of the indie scene, and has a relationship with the local game reviewers and press community within NYC. However, candidates with experience are certainly preferred!

You'll mostly be working from home. We don't have an office, so most of our contact will be remote. You'll be working with me and 2 other artists, as well as possibly other staff we've hired on.

Responsibilities include:
* Attending skype meetings once a week, with a requirement of attending at twice a month. The is our SCRUM meeting, if you're familiar with Agile terminology. If not, it's when we all have a big meeting and discuss the course of the company. Very important.
* Attending in person meetings at least once every 2 months
* Managing and organizing appearances at shows and game events, such as the NYC Playtest Night
* Doing daily social media updates on twitter/facebook/blog/etc.
* Creating content and strategies for the website
* Planning and executing marketing strategies. Includes crowdfunding, viral marketing, etc.
* Estimate and investigate purchases for marketing materials such as software,banners, videos, etc.
* Bargain with and manage materials providers (EG, be the main contact person)
* Creating and curating the kickstarter page. Coming up with rewards, suggesting screen shots, writing trailers, etc.
* Cultivating relationships with game reviewers and websites and getting promotions, maintaining contacts
* Managing and purchasing online ads through either social media or Google Ads
* Researching projects for viability and target audiences.
* Appearing in Kickstarter videos

[**Robotic Potato - About us**](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/alexanderlau/mother-goose)
We're a video games studio based in Queens, NY. We make creative games with a strong focus on quality and craftsmanship!

As a company we operate with ethics and integrity in mind. That means fair pay, fair hours, and no potato salad (because cannibalism!)

**How we work**
Basically everyone works from home. Unfortunately we don't have the funds for office space, however we use standard software development practices to ensure quality and timely deliveries.

Here's a list of the various techniques and technologies we use for games development

* Unity Game Engine
* VCS with Git and Github.
* Sprint/Agile Task Management with JIRA
* Documentation management with Confluence
* Unit Testing and user testing.
* Vector based art with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as Gimp and Inkscape (for me, the programmer)

**The Crew**

* CEO & Lead Programmer: Alexander Lau
* Art Director: Elizabeth Goldberg
* Senior Artist: John Cornacchioli

**About me**

Hi, I'm Alexander Lau. We've been working on this game since May, and I started our company in June. I've always wanted to create games, but I never really had the balls to 'take the leap' so to speak until this April.

Basically I've been working in business software for the past 8 years, and in the last 2 years I worked with a social media startup called Hublished. That project unfortunately failed due to scope issues and lack of user adoption unfortunately- the founders raised a lot of money but the goal of the business was just too ambitious.

After that I had something of a nest egg left and I decided I'd like to forge my own fortunes in creating games. It's been a pretty wild ride- I've hired two artists and we just started our first kickstarter a month in. I'm working full time on this company, while the other two artists are working part time.

**Currently Working on**

[**Mother Goose**](https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/alexanderlau/mother-goose) - A fast paced match-3 puzzle game

[Beta Here](https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/86440045/MotherGooseWeb/MotherGooseWebFS.html)

Mother Goose is a puzzle game combining the addictive qualities of match-3 games like Bejeweled or Candy Crush, with the fast paced falling piece action of Tetris.

Eggs fall from the sky as Mother Goose marches across the screen, collecting eggs. The eggs create colored goslings which players use to change eggs to create matches or 3 or more. Bombs and other special pieces create special effects like explsions and chain reaction

Players compete on a global scoreboard to see who can earn the most points in 60 seconds.

**Planned Games/Concepts in the Works**
We don't just have Mother Goose on our plate. We also have several games in various stages of development.

**Mother Goose Demolition Company [Pre-Alpha]**
A puzzle game about destroying structures and the struggle between industry and environmentalism. This game is in pre-alpha. It's all done in programmer art, but the concepts are fleshed out and we have a working demo with several playable levels. It's going to have a great story and characters to it.

**Kami Kami, An Origami Adventure**
Don't quote me on the title, but our Senior Artist John has been working on some artwork for a really cool origami themed game. The idea is that you're trying to find your form while traveling through a number of different worlds. As a piece of paper you'll be able to take on multiple forms and shapeshift to tackle different challenges. The game is still in the concept stage at this point, but we have some artwork (Which I will edit in once I get a hold of it!)
