In my humble opinion, independent game developers have some of the most fascinating websites around. I can't get enough of them.
Well, mine doesn't fall into 'fascinating' category :D http://davidp.net/Not much in it, just a few blog entries and some in-dev stuff I've been working on, but never completed. I get an urge to create something everytime I look at my page Soon, maybe. But i do like look at the indie devs site, I'll join you on that

http://labbed.net. Maybe it's not that fancy. The color scheme is, uuh... Kinda weird? Whatever. I guess the fanciest thing is the icon in the top right corner. I'm thinking about making the music and software sections a bit more fancy though, with pictures for each software/album instead of just having a boring list.

Far from fancy (although there's some interesting stuff going under the hood, especially CSS-wise and also the language autodetection), but whatever: http://www.azurasun.com/I guess the game's subsite is fancier, but even that isn't all that fancy (I focused more on functionality, to be blunt, and I hate when pages eat up CPU resources like crazy). Also yes, the font used in both sites is 100% custom, that's probably the fanciest part of all.

I spent WAAAAY too log designing my logo in Photoshop but now I really like it :D I also started off thinking I was going to do mobile/casual games as my focus and now I'm going to 100% turn around and focus on Desktop RPG's so I need to redesign and draw focus away from all the mobile games I've got.. Anyways http://infernohawke.com/ is my site.

Feedback is welcome!
I really like your site, it's not over-crowded and I can tell at a glance what you are currently working on. I also dig the GIFs. I think my only gripe is that I initially missed the links in the green navigation bar on the right because I found the text colour too similar to the background of the bar itself. I think I only looked at it because the Donate button stands out. On my end I just have a simple devblog that I update on a weekly basis, it also links to a podcast that I do and has my Twitter feed.

nothin since geocities took it down seriously though... i wonder at the OP. id think that people in gamedev hell lifestyle wouldnt really have much time to spend on pretty websites other than for the most utilitarian of purposes. otherwise its "marketing", no? anyway, here are ours: http://videocultmedia.com/http://rainworldgame.com/and mine for game music stuff: http://jamesprimate.tk/not fancy at all. but maybe its just that *we're* utilitarian types. one of my favorite sites is by aliceffekt who is a game developer and musician, but perhaps most importantly, a VERY "brand conscious" designer, which informs all of his work: http://xxiivv.com/

Here's my website: http://initialsgames.com/The interesting part is that Projects section which you can find here: http://www.initialsgames.com/microsites/It's built using something I made called MicroSite Maker. It's very very similar to DoPresskit(). I was sick of making a new website for each game I made, so I made a template that you can drop in an icon and screenshots, and it will build the site for you.

It's fun... but it takes time away from the game. I do agree, when I see an amazing site like Towerfall's site, it gives an extra bit of value.

Not working on the site because it takes time away from making the game is basically the classic excuse of not doing marketing because it takes time away from making the game. Then you end up having a massive flop. If it's just a hobby you probably don't care, but if you're doing it commercially then don't slack off on something like this.

I don't know if it's fancy, but I've spent time at least making it clear and easy to read. Mine is game centric, at www.arelitecore.com. I also have my personal website at www.dragonslumber.com, but I don't think the design came across as nicely. Still, I'm satisfied with both of them, I'm a programmer, not a visual designer so I think I fended well for myself.

So many new sites to check out! My site is mostly just a blog, with a page for stuff I've made and a page dedicated to my simulation project. http://liza.io
