It was minimalist for years, but I've just revamped it to be fancy:

Like this thread, there are indeed some very nice web sites linked here!

We launched our new web site, and would love to hear some feedback from you guys!
My friend is a web designer and he came up with this site design:

https://impetus-games.com/

What do you think?

Oh geez I'm sort of ashamed to share mine after seeing so many professional ones here!

I chose SquareSpace as a platform so I could very quickly iterate on the website and focus on the game. I created the initial site in 1-2 days and recenently did an update to the game-specific page to follow some suggested trends.

I'm sure I'll revisit it again closer to launch... or when I take another stab at the Logo (hardest thing I've ever had to attempt!... hours and hours with very little progress haha)

Completely revamped our site recently: www.etherealgame.net

Awesome site! Love the background and Ethereal logo.

It was minimalist for years, but I've just revamped it to be fancy:

http://purplepwny.com/

Love the animated slider with the flying duck, haha.

https://impetus-games.com/

What do you think?

Looks cool! The thing I love the most is that you can light up hexagons by moving the mouse around.

I would love some feedback on my sites as well! I don't really focus on them as much as I should, but I'm finally starting to look at them more seriously.

Games Site - http://www.triorbisentertainment.com/
Writing Site - http://lucaszanenga.com/

The writing site is all in portuguese, as are my short stories. I'll translate them one day... but right now I don't have the time.

Been working on a portfolio website for a couple of days now, to show games and websites I've made, both professionally and on my own.

Not ready yet – mainly websites are lacking (but at least the portfolio is in itself one), and I might have to fine-tune the responsiveness but it should look good on desktop with a sensible resolution, iPad and iPhone at the very least. Perhaps Android tablets and phones too. The phone versions scraps the Ludum Dare section entirely.

Ordered the domain yesterday, now the site is up and I have a new primary e-mail adress~

The root of my personal page is not much (just a C64 style page with buttons), but a few years ago I made this nice CV:

I should really update it at some point

I like my dev site well enough, but I sometimes worry if it's too... sterile?

I'm really happy with the way the landing page for my current game turned out, though.

I'm not much of a designer but I make a point of redoing my website about once a year to keep it current with my skills. This website is part blog part portfolio; it focuses on my writing, but I also collect praise for my games so that it is easy to find for reference.

So this is a bit of a placeholder site for now for my new company KnifeySpoonie Games. It's going to evolve a bit when we announce a few things next year and start showing our game thats in development. I guess this site is mainly to allow other Devs and Journalists to see who we are and what we do etc rather than a public facing site at the moment.

I built it in Muse which is part of the Adobe range, since I have it because I pay for a Cloud subscription. Easy enough to use and get to grips with Smiley but will likely use wordpress or hire someone to make a site for me for a real customer facing site.

I just recently wrapped up my site (3-4 weeks ago). It uses the Vantage Pro [wordpress] theme from SiteBuilder... I mean... What else is there to say. It was simple to setup, but honestly I procrastinated on it for ~one WHOLE FREAKING YEAR.

Have always had trouble designing my website, on one hand I want it to appear fun and close to the games I create but on the other hand I have to keep in mind that I create apps and games for clients too Roll Eyes possibly have to split the two at some point.

Usability - no, thanks.

Not working on the site because it takes time away from making the game is basically the classic excuse of not doing marketing because it takes time away from making the game. Then you end up having a massive flop. If it's just a hobby you probably don't care, but if you're doing it commercially then don't slack off on something like this.

This is a good point.  I know it's hard sometimes to balance all the tasks/responsibilities, especially if you're working full-time and doing the game dev on the side, and/or you're going solo, but I definitely agree.  Something I need to get better at myself as well, for sure.

Well, I have to say that all of your websites are awesome and I'm envious. I want one day to make a proper website to myself. I have to study HTML and CSS for that, I guess. And to get a domain xD

For now, mine is a basic blog one. Though I keep posting on it from time to time.

You don't necessarily have to be an HTML/CSS expert...you can use a CMS like Wordpress, install it on your website, and build it out that way with pretty good results.  HTML/CSS can be very helpful, but is not an absolute must.  I use Wordpress for my site, and though I can do HTML if need be, I save a lot of time with the current approach  Smiley
