Hello fellow musicians and parties who are generally interested in music! Like a lot of you, I'm a composer for games. I decided to take on a 30 Day challenge in which over the course of 30 days, I will compose one new game music piece per day. If anyone else is up for the challenge, I'd love to have you join me so we can share our experiences and bask in our glorious state of no-sleep! So why am I doing this? This challenge is meant to be an exercise and test in time management, efficiency, organization, creativity, and *especially* ones ability to overcome the dreaded writer's block. These are areas I want to improve in; I want to constantly improve my abilities as a composer. And I might be a little on the masochistic side in terms of workload LOL. You don't /have/ to start on the clock (since I'm already on day 2 of the challenge myself lol), it's the thought and effort that counts. And there are no real rules or guidelines other than that you have to create one piece per day. You can define what genre of tunes you'll make; I'm personally aiming for an RPG theme. I'll be keeping track of my progress and blogging about it (or at least try to) at my website http://www.DBGM.net as well as my Soundcloud http://www.soundcloud.com/DBGM. Cheers and keep on music-ing! ♪ Dibur

Thought about this for a while and...
I believe there is a reason why my mind keeps coming back to it.
Count in me as well!
I've heard some of your tracks on Soundcloud, and they sound great! This will be a wonderful challenge!
Gonna start tonight.

Uggh,as much as I enjoyed this, I simply do not have the time.
(Not with two major projects, public school, private lessons, planning a school talent show, school music video)
...so, yeah. I'm going to have to drop out. :/

Hmm, yeah, I'll give it a shot. Don't expect much though, because I've had a bit of songwriter's block, and I don't have very good equipment for recording stuff. I'll do my best though! Here's my empty (Not for long!) soundcloud page; https://soundcloud.com/snail_manExpect the first track sometime tomorrow

Do I envy the person who can do this? I dunno... In a way, yes. One day when I have time, I'll listen to all the 30 day compositions. Ha.. A good challenge and exercise. All the best!

Btw, snail man. Don't worry about equipment. It's overrated... Just be creative and realistic with what you've got.

Just did my 15th track, and I must say, this is quite fun. I thought I would be at a loss for tunes by now, but something usually springs into my head after about 10 minutes at the piano. Funny how much you can do if you just get up and do it every day. It's now squarely in my daily routine. I'd highly recommend this exercise to anyone!

Had a listen to a few. They sound great! Although why is everything mono and panned hard left? The old school vibe is cool but why every song?

Simple answer: I don't have great equipment, so it records everything that way, and my headphones are currently malfunctioning in one ear, so I didn't notice it I probably would have converted them all to mono had I noticed, but as it is, I guess I'll just leave it. Thanks BTW!

That's also why everything sounds so muffled. BTW, after my technical final track, I've actually released two more. This is just too much fun! The only self-imposed rule I've changed, is that I can now record tracks in advance, then upload them on other days. I had to do this, because I'm joining a Game Jam for the next four days, and can't be sure to get any music done in that time.
