Pixelblocks are like Lego, except that every piece is a single "pixel" can be attached on all six sides to make pixelated 2D and 3D art.

Last night I made a 3D Link from LoZ, and am super happy with the way it turned out:

(the thing on his shouder is Navi, but I'm considering re-attaching her on a wire or something, rather than on the white pixelblocks)

Anyone else have any Pixelblock art to share?  Kiss

Pretty cool! That Navi thing looks kinda out of place to me but I don't know jack about LoZ so hey, maybe it's perfect.

I'd actually consider getting a set to experiment with if they weren't translucent. That's why it was so hard to tell what you made.

I want to see it lit from various directions! (ideally on the inside, but from behind will do...)

I agree. With it being suppose to resemble a pixel (well isn't it technically a voxel?) I would must rather have it be a solid color.

With that said, it's very awesome made. Did you use any kind of reference like good old 2d sprites?

This is awesome, but yeah, Navi needs to not be on the clear pixel blocks - it's the same colour as his sword and kinda visually confusing.

Most people use them to make 2d sprites and light them from behind, which I guess is why they are translucent?

I changed the Navi thing to a wire, rather than white blocks. It works much better, will take pics tomorrow Smiley

Nope, all from my head. I got drunk and that's what happened. When I sobered in the morning I used a ref to uncover some errors in color choice, but that's about it :D

How did you get them? Their site appears to be down.

My boyfriend bought them a year or two ago at a local independent toy store, I'd call around in your city and see if anyone is carrying them.
