We have discuss this already I even raised doubts no game no image no news Don't get hype yet edit: - More precisely, there is 2 artists and 3 engineers and one unknown - Banjo was great because of level design and gamedesign, I see none of them here. - Emulating the art technical aspect is not really a concern. You know how it works, I worked on QA on big franchise X, technically I can claim I was part of the team, even though my contribution weren't fundamental. I Don't know if any of them where as such. I mean what is Martin Hollis up to this day? edit: where is http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gregg_Mayles

ya i am cautious as well
also that would be a banjo kazooie "spiritual successor" not a mario 64 one. i.e. its probably not gonna take much from sm64's unique platforming mechanics.

welp at any rate, david wise and grant kirkhope, both of the "famous" rare composers, are on the team. so even if the game sucks itll probably have some nice music at least lol.

So pumped to hear David Wise is going to be on board too, he's one of my favorite composers period. I'd love to hear some collaborations between both musicians on single songs- happy-go-lucky stuff mixed with atmospheric wonderment and sick percussion.
I think Playtonic's game will probably be pretty cool. Personally I was really disappointed we didn't get to see the main characters yet, but maybe their reveal will drum up more coverage for their Kickstarter. The environments they showed off were cool technically but I feel like the palettes in both screens were a little tired... like I saw them in other games so many times before. It's solid and serviceable, but they didn't really catch my imagination like Banjo's rich saturation does.
Props to Silbereisen and Gimmy and all the other posters for great conversation in this thread. @valrus I love your typology of gates!

That's a shame, the character controller would have been really useful.

Well, surely he should still be able to provide the vanilla controller sans the Mario models and level?

the controller can still be downloaded from the site actually. would be bizarre if it wasn't available haha. to my knowledge you can't copyright game controls or physics.
tbh the developer could just reskin the game and re-release it because iirc you can't copyright level geometry and enemy design either. super giana 64!
