Thought I'd kick off a thread to show off your pets.

This is Rhubarb, our Corgi on the day we got her (5 months ago) then more recently at the beach. She's alright by me.

They are Devon Rexes.  There are 3 different types of Rex (Cornish, German, Devon, etc.) that all have similar fur.  What you see is the soft downy undercoat that all cats have.  Rexes are distinguished by a gene that causes the normal overcoat fur that most cats to not grow (something to do with not producing a protein, if I recall).  This also has the side effect of causing them to effectively not have whiskers (they do, but they are brittle and tend to be short because they break).  The interesting thing about Rexes is that each of the different breeds has a different gene that causes them to not have fur, so a Devon/Cornish Rex baby would be fully furred (most likely, it's possible that one off them would have a hidden recessive gene).

Very cool, never knew that. Shocked

I've been thinking about adopting one of the Rexes. Their personalities seem to be rather different from the typical domestic cat (in a good way).

Also, Selkirk Rexes (newer breed) look like miniature sheep. Beg
