In most platformers, there's usually a thing (I can't think of the name) that appears under the player when they jump.
Here's the thing:

I don't know what to call it, so I can't google it.
Animation tips or reference pictures are what i'm looking for, as I can't find them on the internet.

Dust? Or do you mean the "momentum" thingies that sometimes look like "waves" that emanate from the movement?

Uhm yeah, good question.

I wouldn't draw it, I would use particles.

With decreasing velocity, alpha, and maybe size

I meant the dust that kicks up, sorry for not specifying.

Yes, but i'm asking how to draw it not what you'd use. That is a better method though.

Bookmarking this for future animation reference, but I can't seem to find what i'm looking for right now.
Sorry if this seems too specific for you guys, I don't expect to find the perfect reference, and i'm sure i'll just end up drawing it from memory.
