@saibot:

Big hug for you, man.

I feel this huge amount of unexplained optimism for you. I just want to encourage you somehow but I don't know how to. Keep your chin up, and if you have some of those super-close super-friends that we humans are sometimes lucky enough to have I'd recommend hanging out with them and talking about stuff and getting this gunk out. I think that'll really help.

ANOTHER HUG FOR GOOD MEASURE

Thanks, PBshoes.
I have told a couple of my close friends, one of them being my current boyfriend who told me how most people from those types of brain surgeries die or become paralyzed, so he's very lucky to have this amnesia, which he also says is typically temporary. So he helped me think it wasn't all that bad. I'll rekindle the friendship when the time comes, but I hate that he has to be stuck in the worst time of his life where his healed mental wounds are now fresh wounds, and I hate that I can't physically be there for him, but I hope I can send him some positive energy somehow.
I'm just taking life one step at a time.

Sort of late to the party, but hugs to Saibot. I actually followed the story here after leaving, and that's a pretty horrible situation to be in (at least you're looking on the bright side though). Hope everything works out in the end, again, hugs.

On my own note, I'm back after taking a week to look at myself and bla bla bla. Dunno if I'll stay for as long as I did last time (Level 9 I think?), because my head still isn't on straight, but whatever, I'll come and go whenever I please, you're not my parents!

Yeah, I'm just hoping things get easier for him and he realizes that he's got a great life now, despite his surgery. His doctor's say his amnesia may be permanent, though my boyfriend thinks it'll be temporary, so I have no idea who to believe with this, but whatever. Some of his friends have given up on wanting to start from square one saying, "they could care less," but I'm always gonna be there for him and help start up a new relationship with him.

And do what you gotta do, man.

If you can, try and get him to see it like this: you had something before. Real friendship is founded upon a deeper compatibility of personality. He may not know you now, but he knows that you and he have potential for something. Making friends is stressful because you don't know what will come of it. It's like diving down a dark tunnel. But with you, there is no doubt that the deeper compatibility and potential for friendship is already there. He doesn't have to know what you had before, but he can know that if he is willing, he can create something like it again.

Yep. I just wonder how I'll start off getting to know him. His friend already mentioned me to him, so he knows of me. Blah, whatever, we'll start talking again and it'll be fun.

I got fired today. One of my old work buddies is a producer at AirMech, so he's gonna tap some contacts and see if he can't help me get another job quick. Still, it's a pretty tough blow.

I was told that I "hadn't improved enough, based on previous conversations" and was fired. Despite getting a satisfactory review on Tuesday.

Office politics, I think.

That sucks :/

Don't you have laws and unions to protect you from unjust treatment by your employer?
