Theme: 'Get off my lawn!'

http://www.pyweek.org/

Is anyone participating?

I wanted to use the past Ludum Dare to learn Python quickly, but I didn't get the chance to learn the basics beforehand. It may have been a good thing, considering that PyWeek started today, so now I have a week to do the learning, plus produce a quick game. So, yeah, I'm in.

I'm in too. It was my least favorite theme originally but I have a couple of ideas I like now. I don't think I'll get much more ambitious than what my LD game was (that took me 24 hours all told) but I'd like it to be much more polished. And with music.

I'm still in the 'learning' stage, and I have to admit that I've been really lazy on that.

I'm in, but only doing music for a team I've been with since 2007.

You haven't installed/downloaded Python yet, haven't you? Tongue It's very interesting and simple language. You already know ActionScript, so you're already familiar with dictionaries and similar very-high-level data structures.

I have an idea for a small concept-driven game doable in Python, but it's not based on this pyweek's theme.

For what it's worth I'm interpreting the theme pretty abstractly. Maybe you could do the same? Grin

My game so far:

I still need to finish some more enemy AI, make the goal a little less transparent, add in the text at the top, add in menus, and add in sound/music. Plus I'll be dinged horribly for originality because its a Robotron clone, but I'm hoping I can get this done before the closing bell on Saturday.

Also Nihiliocrat, I thought I recognized your nick!

Dang, that's pretty impressive. I've still got to do main menu music and a few more sfx!

edit: and now I'm realizing I can't tell time... whoops.
