Welcome to the Midnight Station...

What is The Midnight Station?

The Midnight Station is a surrealistic Action Adventure RPG, hybridizing elements of horror games such as Silent Hill or Space Funeral, Yume Nikki and OFF with more hardcore RPG experiences such as Dark Souls and Diablo. Explore the strange and unsettling world of the Architecture as you talk to a cast of bizarre characters, solve riddles and fight nightmarish creatures should you happen upon their dimensional corners. The Midnight Station is very much about the psychological elements of Horror, more than just jump-scares and gore, it builds on the unsettling aesthetic of the ZX Spectrum and the unease of the abstract and unfamiliar. Originally developed for RetroYak's SpeccyJam 2, we took the extra two or so weeks to finish up the game and polish it up into a full length freeware title. We're all super excited about the project and how well it's been received by Speedrunners, LPers and casual players alike and we hope everyone here enjoys the curious journey of Humanity through the halls and walls of the Architecture. We're currently porting the game over to Linux and MacOSX platforms as well so more people can play the game. We've all been working pretty hard on the project and we'd love to hear your opinions and feedback on our first RPG as a group of indies! It's a pay what you want freeware title, so anyone can give the game a shot~

Put your feet up and stay a while. Check out the wallpapers and decorative ornaments, read the tour guides for hints and suggestions and additional features and venture deep into the Architecture through The Midnight Station...

Screenshots

We've got plenty of screenshots to show of the game to give you a bigger insight into the world of the Architecture. There are graphical options available within the game to turn on/off borders and dim colours for folks who find the ZX Spectrum palette a bit too harsh. Enjoy! :D
