This is half way!!! (today is day 33)

http://goo.gl/HduF92A game about something deserty but not really cause I didnt finish.
So I'm officially half way through this challenge, even if I'm a little behind. So I thought it might be appropriate to have a little blurb here about what I've learned so far and what I'm gonna do going forward. Hopefully I'll have some useful insight to someone out there.
1) Thanks first of all to everyone who took the time to play even one of these games. I know most of them aren't good (in my opinion all of them aren't) but It's nice to know that even when I'm doubting my own quality of work someone can find something interesting or positive about my works. Helps calm the inner critic.
2) For those of you out there struggling with game ideas, struggling with the idea of your works not being good enough. Stop it. There are no geniuses or prodigies, etc. If you want to make good games start on your next game now. If its not good start again, feel free to scrap and stop working on ideas your not interested in. You've already learned from the experience and you can take that forward to your next game.
3) "Good artists copy, Great artists steal" - Picasso. Do not be afraid to copy ideas from other games, never let yourself say "oh this idea was already done by so-n-so". Sometimes the best thing you can do is copy, because from there you are able to understand and expand on the ideas already there. You start to understand why some of the things in those games are there from an entirely different perspective. It's a great learning experience and you will be a better designer for it. And its always fun to put your personal twists on old formulas
4) Distractions happen, a lot. For me some days I just can't seem for focus or get anything done. (happening a lot more lately) I guess this is natural, but it can be prevented. I'm gonna try something I should have a while ago. Simply make a plan the day before. However, the next day, every hour make it a point to write down what you have accomplished in a few sentences that hour. Might help having a tangential record of how you are spending your time as you are spending your time.
5) AND FINALLY. Have fun with this. Game development is a way of life for some, better make the journey as enjoyable as possible. Try making a game for a certain person, send that person the game when you're done. Try making a game to play with a couple friends when you next meet up. Try making a game for someone who isn't into games. Try making a game for christmas to play on christmas with family. Try making a game to make someone laugh. etc.
I'm not an authority on the subject of game development and this is written just before I sleep so take this as you will. I still have a long way to go and I hope you stick with me to the end.
