One Final Contract is super low-resolution top down shooter with procedurally generated levels and the extremely high lethality of games like Hotline Miami. The player must get from the first floor of a building, to the 5th floor where they will assassinate “The Target”. Along the way the protagonist will purchase better weapons, fight increasingly tougher enemies, and do their best not to get shot. In One Final Contract firefights are super lethal. The player and enemies take very little to be killed, causing firefights to be over in seconds.

Rather than posting a ton in the first post, I’m going to add new stuff everyday and post about that. I’ll end this first post, with a give of the first level. I will also be uploading a demos during development, so people can see all the changes.

Today I want to talk briefly about the three main weapon types in the game.

The first type of weapon is the repeaters. Repeaters are semi-automatic weapons with moderate damage, and small magazines. If you have a powerful enough repeater you should be able to kill most enemies on the floor with only one or two shots. These weapons will require a moderate amount of ammo management.

The second type of weapon is the automatic. Automatic weapons have lower damage, but have a high rate of automatic fire, and magazines large enough that you don't have you manage your ammo too much. In general these kill more enemies, but at a slower rate, which can prove dangerous.

The third type of weapon is the shotgun. Every shotgun will always kill every enemy with on hit, and can kill multiple enemies with one shot. To compensate for the high damage, shotgun type weapons have uber-small magazines. Clearing a whole room with one shotgun blast is one well placed shot is one of the most satisfying things in the game.

There are more weapons of other varieties in the game, however those are more unique specialty items. Thats it for todays post, I will try and have more for you tomorrow.

Yeah, that doesn't really make any sense for them to have done. I'm sure if I tried real hard I could come up with a good explanation for it, but I'm I'm just gonna go with "because videogames".
