Hello. I need feedback on my art.

This is one of the enemy sprites of a game I'm making.
It's supposed to be a toucan that transforms into a boomerang.

What do you think? I honestly don't quite like the look of it.
suggestions?

I like the bird. His eyes look sad. Does he have sad thoughts?

A boomerang has more mass. You could try to leave more of his body in.

In terms of character design I think the curved spikes of his beak/talons and the stubby rounded wings/tail send contradictory messages to the player: one part danger, one part plush safety. If it's an enemy it should probably communicate threat only: try echoing the spikes in the wings and tail, or downplay them so the beak/talons are more important to the silhouette.

I would bring some of his feathers or the tail into the boomerang shape. And avoid overlapping the foot and tail, it creates a strange silhouette.

The shadow on the lower part of the beak is nearly invisible, so I'd drop it.
