My project is called Insatia. To put it simply, it's a carnivorous worm simulator.
You can hunt for prey and fight other worms in an eat-or-be-eaten world.

Please, support it on Steam Greenlight: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=777781816

The project is a few years old and I'm working on the next alpha-release right now.

Here is a playable build: http://insatia.kozinaka.com/download.ashx?key=release_3_0

Here is a video of the work in progress:

So what do you think?

Seems to be a funny game.

I like the art style of the background  Smiley

But I think you should rework the worms graphics. There style looks very different from the background art.

Thank you! You're hit the bool's-eye: worms and other creatures will be redrawn. It's still programmers's art. Smiley
The last release is from it entirely:

At present almost all environment features is already redrawn:

There are some WIP-video width draft of worm's style:

Insatia 3.5a with English localisation.
Video:

The user interface and dialogues were translated into English thanks to Laura Hendrickson and Yulia Nikolaeva. In addition to the localization, the following changes are visible in this alpha version:

1. The controls are rebalanced: the worm speeds up smoothly, glides more and can turn sharply before jumping.
2. Decorative bonsai trees were added to the existing levels.
3. A digestion meter was added on the left side of the screen in the GUI.
4. Added some effects to the level ending and moved the GUI indicators from the center of the screen.
5. Fixed some bugs found by players: crashing from Alt-Tab, not saving the custom controls, etc.
6. Made the race level easier and added arrows marking the way to the finish line.
7. You can now use adrenaline in bursts at any time.

This is a really cool take on the top-down style game. Very simple but addictive style to it and it looks great. Keep it up...

Insert nightmare fuel here.

This is looking pretty fun actually, and the visual style is good. So, keep at it!

Love that textured look. Very nice.

If you move away from the cartoon look, you may want to consider revisiting the head (or at least the eyes) to help sell the overall aesthetic.

At least the eyes, they look like someone put googly eyes on them.

Actually you should make that an easter egg.

video with the stylized worms looked great, I think I would have to see the new version in motion to realy compare. on the screenshots it looks like it might be harder to differentiate between objects. and i think they really need eyes in the more realistic version, the gaps looks quite strange now.

It's just a visual style feature. I don't want move away from cartoon look. Tha main idea of the game is in contrast between carton visual and insatiated and terrific core of actions.

Empty google-like eyes are important part of Insatia creatures impressions. The strange gaps are blank emotion list, you can imaging any emotion about it. Please, look at this characters:

ok, in the video the empty eyes did not disturb me. it's just on the screenshots. visuals look good, but I cant help think its hard to identify what is bigger/smaller. maybe this is part of the appeal/danger feeling. maybe you could use the earlier visual style to outline the creatures that are dangerous to you, just a thought. anyway, good work!

It's good you finally got here. I wish I could say "Privet", but I have to speak "Hi" instead, since it's not a Gamin anymore. It's nice you haven't abandoned the game. I like the new look of worms! Fake lightning is really great. You blend sprites? I'm not sure though this volumetric style will look OK with the style of flat characters. Also, I don't like the messy faces. Kee mouth clean and just color the side jaws, it will work better.
