I read some articles based on my own dumb thoughts, turns out they aren't so dumb. Some university did a study and they said that a doctor is better at their job if he wears a doctor's lab coat as opposed to a paint-mixer's lab coat.

It's weird.

On the flip side I still did lots of work today even though I was in my pajamas and a housecoat all day. Wutevz.

I started to work from home recently and it's been difficult to concentrate, any advice is worthy.

exercise or take a long walk after getting up to get your cardiovascular system up to speed, otherwise you'll feel like shit all day (or at least i do).

A separate game-dev computer is recommended commonly. I don't have the luxury of buying a new PC so it's a nope for me, and I often find myself distracted by things online instead of doing any work.

I recently moved back home, but when I lived in Toronto I knew every day was free, so I would go to bed that night with a plan in my head, this ended up with me working 4-8 hours a day. Now I'm busy and I don't know what time I'll have free, encouraging me to just do whatever whenever I can.

I don't know. Planning and having a clear schedule helped me a lot, maybe it's just me.

this. Eat a good breakfast, wear something (not pajamas) and do something right when you wake up, otherwise you'll be on bed all day and feel like shit. Unfortunately I still feel like shit when I'm to lazy to do all that, and then I regret as hell for not being in the mood to work as much as I could.

another tip is not working from home doing something you don't like because if you like it you'll be excited waking up to it no matter if you take a walk or not

I find that my productivity goes up a lot when I use software like Cold Turkey, which simply blocks websites and apps for periods of time. Also, I have this app on my computer named RescueTime, which measures how much time you spent on different websites and apps, and it tells you how productive you'd been that day.

also wats wrong with indie

i don't know about you but i like having food on my table

i like food

But yes, when I did this sort of stuff, I took a walk every morning and evening for a while. Had a set schedule with breaks and a checklist of things to finish every day. It was effective.

Doing it on my free time now I suppose getting back home from a day job provides a similar effect. Except they told me this week I had to quit again because they missed out on an important client and now the economy is going down the drains. Hand Thumbs Down Right

Found some positive people and possible employers again already, tho. Let's hope all goes well. I'm not going indie again until I have something substantial in like... 2-3 years. Tired

A separate game-dev computer is recommended commonly. I don't have the luxury of buying a new PC so it's a nope for me, and I often find myself distracted by things online instead of doing any work.

I get around that by having a game-dev dedicated OS in my boot loader options.

I should also get a game-dev Fez to wear for maximum productivity.

Get a separate game-dev discipline to switch on during work.

Thank goodness I don't have a table, I'd have to put food on it.

who even owns a pajamas

are you three years old

Ummm, wtf?! You have to be 3 years old to own pajamas? I must have not gotten the memo, even after 29 years.

I own literally like 12 pairs of pajamas. My wife jokes about how much I need twice as many pairs. I seriously agree, wishing I had 20+.

My pajamas are Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Simpsons, Family Guy, Camouflage, "Normal" guy types (plaid? i dont know what they call those designs), just black, chef pants (which are basically like awesome pajama pants) and I only wish I had some Adventure Time ones.

That in theory, that they're more comfortable to sleep in than normal clothes.
