there's no sf4 topic and a lot of people around here seem to be getting into sf4 so here's a topic to discuss strategies and arrange matches

lets do this. I went on a hearthstone binge about a month ago and have been thinking everytime midgame "why am I not playing street fighter right now?"

I'm usually good on weekends to play almost any time. Some weekday nights. We should get a big endless lobby going.

I don't actually own Ultra yet, and haven't played SF4 for about a year - but even though I prefer other fighting games I somehow miss it and I'll be picking it up soon. My steam id for when the time comes is shinygerbil. Beware that I live in the UK so may not be playable over the Atlantic

I'm actually so far behind on Street Fighter that I don't really know what the "meta" (such as it is per se) is. It used to be basically pick akuma, then knockdown vortex vortex -> dead. If your character doesn't have a safe mixup after a knockdown your character is unplayable. Has this changed?

(Also want to float the possibility of playing ST over GGPO.)

some of us have also been playing on supercade (sf3:3 / puzzle fighter / jojo's) (supercade seems to work way more consistently than ggpo)
