Hi.
I'm a 30 year old guy that's spent about 7 years doing traditional AAA development as a gameplay designer. I've been following indie games for about the same amount of time, but as a designer, uh, there aren't quite as many opportunities for self starting as there is for someone with solid programming skills. Eventually I chucked the excuses and got started on a few projects, each of which fizzled because my team members kept having random messed up real life stuff pull them off the project, and I couldn't easily replace them at that point. I also did some early work on that Altitude game that was posted here recently, which I'm much more proud of than any of the stuff I've done for my day job.
I'm currently starting on an XNA project that I'm pretty excited about, but er... just keeping my fingers crossed that my artist doesn't get hit by a bus or something in the meantime.

Hi, I'm Michael Bacon, mostly known as Valzi on the internet. My primary contribution to digital art would be in the realm of music, made in Impulse Tracker, Modplug Tracker, and Renoise. I've been making chiptunes (not the kind normally thought of as "game music," like in a NES game) for a while now and have been working with more extensive production the last few years. I've also been starting and stopping game projects for a long time, mostly throwing out all my work before I'm done, and mostly working with interactive fiction. Lately though, I've been working at platformers in Game Maker and having some fun learning pixel art here and there.

They call me.... Copper8642. That's coincidentally what I call me. And it's what I tell them to call me. Which might have something to do with why they call me Copper8642.
Basically, I will eventually get together the willpower to learn to program basic stuff, and I saw the list of programming languages and game makers (specifically, Game Maker).
More importantly, indie games are usually very creative, and often free, and a website dedicated to them = entertainment!
Sup?

Well, I am represented by the guy offering the coin, so I suppose we only have our names in common. Not that I think money is the bomb. Money is the coin.

Hi all. My name is Tim, I've been into indie games for three years, programming with GM7 for two years and been a lurker in the tigfourms for a couple months.
I'm thirty years old, I have been into games since I was 5. It all started with ColecoVision and the Atari adapter you attached to the coleco system. The NES came out when I was 8 and that was the beginning of the end for me. Just like most people here I fell out of love with games when the 3D stuff started happening(psx n64), although I do think there are titles worth playing they didn't have the same charm as games on the NES, SNES or the Genesis.
When the xbox360 controller came out I noticed it had a USB connector, on my NES emulators the control kicked ass. Finally a control worth using on the computer. with the dawn of youtube and all sorts of downloadable music on the internet, I thought to myself their has to be somebody out their who has made a downloadable game, joystick compatable that kicks ass, oh and is totally FREE. I looked on a couple of top ten lists for best freeware games. all of the lists had different games but one constant game on all of said lists was Cave Story. Loved it. From what I've seen in the indie communities is the beginning of something big! A real DIY approach to games, I admire the shit out of it.
Right now I'm farting around with GameMaker 7 and I like it, their is so much more to talk about but I'll leave it at that.

Hey hey, My name is brad, and I work as a professional game developer in Vancouver, BC. I'll keep the studio itself a secret, but I'll tell you outright that it's not EA. I've worked as a tester, lighter, artist, and am now back to testing (my choice). I'd like to be a fully-fledged designer one day, but hey, it's only been 2 years. It'll come. I've been making games since I was in Grade 7, and made games using RPGMaker2k for numerous high-school projects (mainly an Industrial Revolution game, and 2 book reports. I got 100% on every one for doing something new, and those early games were the start of my game development career. I've just installed Flash CS4 at home and have 30 days to figure it all out. I have some minor flash experience and can work my way around HTML, CSS, and other interweb languages. I'm working toward becoming an indie developer, and this site has proved to be a huge resource so far; looking forward to getting into it. My personal portfolio can be found at www.bradkav.com. It's a bit out of date, but that's all the recent work I have published.

Er, this is... Inanimate. I come from lots of other forums, mostly animation, and I am into art, writing, and of course, game development. It's just, I suck at programming, art, and overall, game development. Except for the idea department. I think I'm good there. At least, others tell me that.
I know MetaKnightmareGirl here, and she's been awesome. I also know Michael, since he's the one who got me to make the jump to being a poster, instead of a lurker. I have been reading this site for a long time, and enjoying the many games you geniuses create almost daily! I love the humor, and the friendly people, and think this might be one of the best forums I have ever seen. It is going to take a while to get used to posting, instead of reading, but I think I can do it. (EDIT: Oh, I also hang out at Indie Games, Announcements, Art and Design, Comps, and Feedback!) It is my dream to have one of my ideas become a tangible game I can play, instead of something that exists only in my dreams! And that's why I want to be a game developer!

Hello. My name is Aaron, and I work in a two-man team without a name. I can't really give out any details about our games, but I can say that they're shmups [edit]THEY'RE NOT SHMUPS. They're run-and-gun platformers. I got confused[/edit]. I seem to be the lead designer of the one of the games as most of the ideas about it come from my head, but we seem to share most of the other jobs. That, of course, will probably change as our innate abilities as developers show themselves, and we become more trusting of one another... like the developers of World of Goo. That's about it...
