Gamer since NES, got deep into counter-strike when i was 13 and have been playing up until now. I feel that CS:GO didn't maintain the "magic" from CS 1.6. Decided i should try and do something about that  Beer!. May nostalgia carry me on.

Hey everyone!

I am Caleb, I go by Naddox for all things gaming, or calebdk sometimes. I am an artist and wannabe programmer. I have always had a love for art ever since I was 5. When I was 14 I transitioned from doing mostly traditional style art to the digital side. I started out with a program called Photo Filtre and tried GIMP for about an hour before I said screw that and have been using Adobe Photoshop since, until about a week ago when I found out about Pyxel Edit, now I use that for my pixel art.

I wanted to get into game dev when I was around the age 15 or 16, my brothers got me into Jedi Knights: Jedi Academy(JKA) and that was where I started by making my own custom maps/levels for JKA along with my own textures. I quickly decided I wanted to make my own game but wanted to start small, in the form of a complete overhaul mod for JKA(Never happened Sad). So I took on some college courses in my high school on web design and graphic design to get the jist on programming and to refine my graphic design abilities. Unfortunately I stopped doing anything with programming other then dabbling into one or another language over the years and never practiced them so never quite became good at any programming(But man can I read and understand code!)

I once tried out Gamemaker, way back when, but at the time it wasn't much and I quickly hated it and left it. But now I am back in the Gamemaker world after they did the humble bundle, a sweet deal that I wouldn't turn down. I recently participated in GM(48) game jam, made a space game with 2 others called Grapple Ship that ended up having WAY too many bugs in it and isn't really a game, but we are fixing them so we can have the actual game released.

I am also working on my own top-down RPG in Gamemaker to help learn more about programming and the dev side of things better.

And thats about it!

Hi, I'm Mannapi.

I am a programmer at a fairly large studio (a job i really love) and I make games in my free time, without ever finishing anything  Embarrassed. I used to find excuses for not working on my projects back when I had all the time in the world. Now I have a kid and very little free time. Having so little free time put everything into perspective for me and made me realize that time is precious and I should try to create more than I consume.

I recently started a project to learn Unity and brush up on my C#. I have been lurking here for a long time and watched a lot of amazing games be created. I am going to start devblogs for my future projects and hopefully that will be an extra kick in the butt to finish them.

See you around!

Hi, my name is King, the founder of Klearwing, located in Hong Kong.

When I was young several titles showed me what is ideal world, meaning of love, justice and happiness.

So I worked at Firedog Studio as game designer for 10 years, participated in development of PC games such as NeveRossa and Tiara Concerto, trying to change the world by this multi-media that touches our heart.

I formed a team on 2014 to explore more possibilities with new friends, which was dismissed after understanding that every members have different goals, during the development of trial version and unsuccessful crowd-funding, and became a solo developer cooperating with freelancers.

No matter the plot of PC AVG and MMORPG in previous studio, or casual mobile game working now, I hope my design can affect more people to create a more wonderful world together.

See you all!

Howdy,
My name is John Grisnik. I am the lead developer and brand manager at Platoon Studios.  We are a very small indie dev company working on windows PC and laptop games (and eventually the SteamBox).

We are hardcore Battlezone gamers from the previous century, trying to get a new, updated version of BattleZone 1 out to the public (done in UE3).

Anyone here play Battlezone 1 or 2?

Im old enough to have played the arcade (Atari) version of battlezone, any old timers here play that game??

Well..

I am just your average, typical student who likes making games  Hand Thumbs Up Left

My favorite games would have to be the Smash Bros. line - Nintendo 64 being the one I was introduced to. Pretty impressive for one as young as I.

Or not.

I love seeing people taking classic games like pong, asteroids, etc. and giving them a fun new twist.

Hi Peeps,

I'm James Buckle, I'm relatively new to indie development.  I've spent the last two years in the trenches making my game and I've finally stuck my head up to look around and say 'hi' to the indie community.

Prior to this I spent twelve years at The Creative Assembly as Lead Tester on Total War.

In my youth I played around making bits of games on a ZX Spectrum then an Amiga.

Hello all,

My name is Kyrsten and I stink at introductions, but I figured it was time to come out of the shadows and register here, since I spend enough time drooling over the devlogs without actually mentioning how cool they are.

Anywho, I haven't programmed anything yet, but it's a long term goal. I'm going back to college here in a few months for programming so I'm sure I'll be implementing my lessons into something fun. I've got some pretty big dreams in my skull that need to be smashed into something realistically indie, and I hope to take that journey with this community!  Grin Toast Right

Hi folks, I'm Nick, it's 2am here, and my final act for today (yesterday, actually) will be to introduce myself here.

I run a little shop called Arcane Ingenuity and aside from working on an open source framework for games and real-time apps development called arc, I'm moreover using it to produce an FPS/RTS/RPG hybrid, which will hopefully be simple, fun, and visually inspiring / full of awesome natural environs.

I'm ranked no. 13 Who, Me? on gamedev.stackexchange.com, which I guess some of you guys use from time to time. Smiley

Hi. My name is nolan, I like to make games. I've had little projects here in there in c++ and unity and stuff since i was in middle school, but I recently began taking game development a little more personally seriously, so I thought it'd be cool to join here and see if I can contribute anything. Here's a gif of a game I'm working on

thanks guys

Hi, My name is Jacek. I am co-owner of Igero  - independent studio from Poland.  I can do anything except… the most important thing – game programming.

With two other guys we made 4 games. None of them make money. But hey,  there is time for making, and time for selling! Smiley
Like many others we try to make games that we would like to play. This is how Storage Empire and My Beach was made.  Why did we make a game for kids… I have no idea.

I am 36 y.o. copywriter. I have a wife and a daughter.  I like games, fishing tournaments, soccer and climbing. I guess this is me.

And this is my websitehttp://igerodev.com/

Hi,

My name is Paul and I love working on personal projects (games) in my spare time.
I mostly enjoy platformers and given the that there are not so many decent ones on mobile I figured I'd give it a shot myself.

Howdy,

My name is Antoine, you've probably seen me under the pseudonym of Tselmek around the interwebs. I'm a 15 years-old (soon turning 16) french student who likes messing around in the adult's playground that is game dev. I am a semi-artist as well as an in-learning programmer. I firt got into game making when I started to write programs in Ti-Basic while being bored in maths classes about 2 years ago. In the course of the year, I discovered the incredible tool that is GameMaker 8.0. I messed around with it, got bored of it, then found out about GameMaker: Studio about a year ago, and that's when I started to enjoy creating games as much as playing them.A few of heartbeast's tutorials later, I enter my first game jam, Ludum Dare, and I am in love with gamejams since then. And here I am.

That sounds like all about me, now prepare your helmet because links are about to get thrown.

Hi,

my name is David. I'm a 31 y.o. software engineer from Switzerland. I always had a passion for video games. As soon I started playing games I wanted to know how they were created and here I am, some years later, working as Software Engineer. I used to work as Software Engineer/Game Designer in a company working on interactive applications/serious games and small advergames but the company had gone bankrupt and I'm now working in the medical field. Game related jobs around here are almost impossible to find due to the very high cost of living in Switzerland. I'm of course still coding games in my spare time, when I’m not in the air flying my hangglider.

As a game programmer I always liked to “reinvent the wheel”, and I was totally unable to do any progress on my games as I was constantly rewriting my "game engine" or refactoring my code. After discovering Unity 3D around 5 years ago, I was finally able to fully concentrate myself on the game design and gameplay programming... even if I’m still fighting against my old demons wanting to recode everything in a different way Wink.

I always suffered from the "let's start another prototype and never finish anything" game developer syndrome, so I joined forces with a long time classmate a year ago to create "Alpagames", a small team aiming to release some finished games and attend gamejams together. We released our first small mobile games this Halloween, "Cemetery Rush", on IOS, Android and Windows Phones.

Here are some links to our website and project :

What's up, party people? I'm Karl, but you can call me dualcats (all lowercase, por favor, but I won't hold it against anyone who forgets).

I found my way here following the sudden recollection that Rain World was a thing I had been quite interested in, which was fairly serendipitous given that in the past month, I've decided to get off my ass and cultivate my game-development skills (which are, at this point, emphatically inadequate). I have had cursory experience in coding (used GameMaker studio a few years ago, and am currently a SuperCollider script-kiddie) but I feel like I would still fall squarely in the "barely-even-a-beginner" category. I'm pretty serious about improving, though, and have come here to interface with you beautiful individuals and perhaps, in the future, to collaborate. My one actual skill of note is that I'm a proficient electronic musician and, to a lesser extent, sound designer. I've synthesized things you people wouldn't believe. But actually I'm pretty boring and can't even conceive of a satisfactory way to continue this Blade Runner reference so I think I will just go to bed now. Sorry.
