Hello all. Well I am from Finland and I have done some games development. Background in modding, but most of the more recent work fall in the "indie" category. More information can be found at http://veli.ws/ (there is stuff about homemade beer there as well). Cheers

Hi all! I'm jet another indiegamer soon to be developer. From Sweden. I found the indiegame movement mainly through Nifflas game knytt stories. random games i'm a fan of: Terranigma (best SNES music ever!) Super Metroid Castlevania(all the metroidvania ones) zelda - a link to the past Starcraft aquaria and a lot more of course, those are just som i could think of right away My gaming history starts with the SNES, so if you talk NES it's 8 bits too retro for me . currently im not playing much though, some tekken 3 when friends are over and some indiegames now and then of course. Mostly i try to be creative with my computer time, drawing and dabbling in musicmaking. I started with python some time ago (wonderful to learn as a first language). hoping that all this will melt together into a game sometime soon. looking forward to be fully indoctrinated in the TIGsource ways . over

Hallo all. I'm Joe, a Games Development student from Ireland, occasionally resident in L.A. I seem to have become fairly fixated on fiddling around with turn-based strategy game mechanics, and am currently working on one which may or may not get released. Gaming-wise, although I started with a second-hand 2600, I'm definitely a c64 child at heart. All those nights waiting for tapes to fail their load routines certainly helped twist me into the shape I am today I'm a bit of a retro-head, and currently have not nearly enough room for my c64(natch), amiga, zx speccys(a rubber keyed 48 and a +2a), amstrad 464 & 128, n64, modded Saturn and my lovely, lovely Dreamcast. I'm a fan of adventure games, strategy/board/cardgames and massively overreaching projects that never get done. As can be easily grasped from a cursory glance at my backlog of semi-developed, unreleased trash. A few favourite titles are Rebelstar(on the Speccy),Mad Doctor(for the '64), Disgaea, Laser Squad, The Longest Journey and blah blah etc. I'm also a semi-professional (read: sometimes people remember to pay me) artist, and a keen amateur (read: not good enough to ask for money)musician and occasional writer. My goal as a designer? To bring back sharp, fun strategy games to the pc. Taking stuff like Rebelstar and The Gold Box rpgs and putting a retro-modern, streamlined spin on them. As well as trying to push the style in some fresh directions while I'm at it. If I can get vaguely close to any of that, I'll die a happy bunny I've been reading TIGSource on-and-off for quite some time now, so thought it was about time I dropped in here to say hello. Hello

I've got a site at sleepercar.net, but it's not been updated with anything useful just yet, more just random stuff from a while back. It's due an actual, proper update pretty soon. My profile pic's just an edit taken from a concept poster I did for Slaughterhouse Sisters, a strategy RPG adventure about three damned schoolgirls. It's in limbo at the mo while I finish a much shorter, simpler project. Here's the full pic.

Hello world!
Live in Meadville, PA. Married for 22 years. We have a son in the Air Force Academy (computer science major, yay!). Anyway, I've been a coder since 12 years old. Working as a professional software engineer since 1998. Got my MBA from Penn State in 2009.
I've always wanted to make games but didn't have the time. Well, now that my MBA is completed I feel like I have tons of free time. I posted in the Feedback forum regarding my new game, Fangorodrim. I look forward to getting your feedback on that.
See you in the forums!

Hey everyone! I'm a new independent game developer doing everything: programming, graphics, 3d modeling, animations and music composing. Released my first game in April this year, already working on a second one. I just want to say how great it is to be a part of, probably, the largest indie community. Keep up the good work guys!

Hi there! I'm a French game developer who graduated from a Game Design bachelor degree a few months ago, and now trying to get into the indie community, which I discovered and been following since then about 1,5 years ago. My background in game creation goes way back in the mid-90s when I discovered Klik'n'Play (I wasn't even 10 years old at the time!) and then The Games Factory a few years after. Then I discovered the ROM Hacking community (sort of modding for retro NES/SNES/etc games for those who don't know) and focused on it for a few years before getting back into game making when I started my studies in Game Design. Only game-related stuff released on the net so far include mainly ROM Hacking things with a Super Mario Bros 3 hack, some technical videos of new stuff hacked into SMB3, and other things like a program to add musics in SMB3 ( Yeah I kinda love Super Mario Bros 3! ) I also have a video showing our end-term game project of last year, which is a shoot'em up based on coloring enemies in order to defeat them. Now since I finished my studies I'm working on my first commercial project which will also be my first full original game - it is a simple obstacle-avoiding game for iPhone/iPod Touch. Nothing revolutionary gameplay-wise, but since I'm doing it all alone, I'm starting simple before even trying to do more complex and ambitious stuff. I should start to communicate more on it in the coming weeks. The indie gaming community seems composed of really wonderful and passionate people, and I must say it is really refreshing in a world where mainstream video games become more and more a business rather than a creative medium!
