Hey there! My name is Alex Prokhorov, in the web realm known as Satori(if taken, than Satori4 or Satori430 ).The nickname has come from my skateboarding past, the wheels on my skateboards were from company called Satori movement) A year ago I moved down from Moscow to London.Currently, doing my masters degree at UCL and working with two friends of mine in recently baked game studio http://www.facebook.com/SnowArcStudioBrief description of my entire life I've always loved playing games, spent ours of my on this, and when I finished my undergrad, got a degree in finance and went to my first job in a bank.I pretty quickly understood that is the most dull stuff in the world ,and decided to dedicate my life to my passion the making games. A weird life spin isn't it? Already, for two years we've been working in a small team of three, recently named our team as Snow Arc In the team,I'm a game designer,a level designer, and draw some rough concept sketches. The results of our hard work Our the very first project(frozen): Stealth action/puzzle The second project is almost done:Puzzle for iOS/Android It's cool to be part of a such interesting community! Cheers P.S. sorry for the large pictures))

Well, I'm not that good with these types of threads... Hi, I am MR4Y, or Bruno. Despite the first thread depicting the indie community as being small, it's impressive(for me) how much it can do and with such level of quality and finesse. As for me, I compose songs, record, mix and produce music(not professionally). I started doing this by myself without knowing anything 12 years ago, by playing with a demo of FL Studio (When it was still called Fruity Loops and was in it's thrid version.), doing mainly electronic music, which I still do but nowhere near any particular style or form. Nowdays (I think) I can compose many different styles of music, but I'm more confortable with the usual electroacoustic type music. Even though I might not consider myself as such, I'm also a multi instrumentalist, playing keyboards, piano, guitar, bass, drums and singing (it's better when I don't sing...). It's not something formidable, but hey. Some people also praise my ability to produce material rather quickly, sometimes doing a entire song/or schratch song within a few hours or a couple of days. As for games, I don't know if I shoud consider myself very picky or something else. I like games that I can identify myself with somehow. I have no ide how to define this, but I'm a firm believer of playing the game yourself as opposed to go by reviews, etc. Some games I like: Half Life 1, 2, 2 ep1 and 2ep2, portal 1 and 2, black & white 1 and 2, Legend of Zelda. Some indie games I like (which is probably all the ones I know for now): Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac, Mr. Breen, Runman, Cartlife. (What else I should write about...?) To finish this thread, here's my soundcloud page: http://soundcloud.com/mr4yWell, that's it. (Post made while listening to: Lizard by King Crimson)

Hello, my name is Matthew. I have a small interactive design studio in Brooklyn with my business parter. We've done mostly websites since starting back in 2008, but we are both more interested in doing games and game-like things. My background is mostly doing that kind of thing in Flash, but we've been working more and more with Javscript and iOS, which has been fun and challenging. Our site has not been updated with new work for while, but if you are interested you can see some of what we're about here: http://adaptedstudio.com/. We have some game-like sketches here: http://adaptedstudio.com/sketches/. I've followed tigsource on RSS for a long time, but I'd like to find a way to get more directly involved with the indie game community, especially here in New York City. Both to get feedback on things we're working on right now, and see what other people are doing. thanks Matthew

Hi TIGmen and TIGwomen! I registered here (probably a couple years ago - feels that way) then stopped coming around. So I'm back and making games now. I've been an artist for about 6 years now and I'm 29. I started making pixel art a month ago or so and I'm really liking it so far. My first game's progress is posted in my sig and I'm looking for a programmer currently (which I have no way of paying ) Anyway, nice ta meet ya'll and I hope to be here a while.

Hellok. I'm Chris, though I go by nekobun just as often, both in public and online. More of a fan than a dev, I've been rediscovering the wonders of the indie side of gaming as of late, after years of barely having time for that or mainstream games at all.
History-wise, aside from a couple of dalliances with arcade games back when I was at an age most people have trouble remembering things, I got into gaming with the NES. Chucked Mario right aside to dive into Zelda, and haven't looked back. Grew up a Nintendo kid, with some Sega exposure through friends, and fell into the Playstation care of Final Fantasy VII, all the while milking shareware demos on the PC for all I could given we didn't have that much money to throw around.
Flash forward to now, and I've got all three consoles, and have been digging back into PC gaming, aided in great part by the various indie bundles cropping up, and finally decided to start doing some research and spreading the love.
I've been cranking out features on Destructoid's cblogs for years now, and started streaming game video over at Twitch not too long ago, aiming mostly for an angle on the latter of playing indie, overlooked, forgotten, and otherwise not created to sell to a demographic games. After taking plenty of time to shake myself out of the complacency I'd been lulled into with a steady but mind-numbing day job with decent benefits and pay, my aim is to do something crazy on one of those fronts (the stream or writing freelance) and moving out to the Bay Area to try and find a home amongst the things I truly enjoy.
I have dabbled a bit in design, from some ideas as a kid and dabbling in RPG Maker and MegaZeux briefly, but never really took the time to get into it. I've a couple of concepts bouncing around that might be worth a crack in Flash or Unity, but they're staying backburnered until I get that whole "get a job you don't hate" thing squared away.
But yeah, glad to have found (or refound; I think I stumbled across the site before and forgot about it like a chump) this place, hope to get settled in soon.

HI! I'm Patrick, but I'd rather go by my screen name, Giik. (or TheGiik if Giik's already taken.)
I've been wanting to make a game for a really long while, and I figured this place is a better place to start than nothing.
I'm terrible at long, descriptive introductions so I'll just leave it at that...
Edit: Awww yeah, page king.

Hello! My name is Sean Musgrave. I develop games for the PC. You can see some work here: http://seanmgames.nfshost.com/port/portfolio.html, but I also recently finished a game for Ludum Dare I'm pretty psyched about. Games I'm obsessed with: console RPGs with Ye Olde Magic: Chrono Trigger, Final Fantasy 3, the Mother/Earthbound series. When I was a kid I was a pretty big deal at Street Fighter 2. The game I fell in love with most recent was the Silent Hill series. Its weird that it took that long, but there it is. I'm a big fan of survival horror-ish games that aren't resident evil, like Parasite Eve (One day I'll get all the way up that tower) Big fan of the wave of surreal indie games, such as La La Land and Space Funeral. Also as a trans person I thought Dys4ia was pretty awesome.

My name is David, and I've just registered to contribute here after spending far too long only reading. I work at Firaxis Games as a lead designer on small, experimental projects in collaboration with Will Miller, with whom I have also designed and developed numerous jam games and side projects (such as Notan). Prior to my current role, I worked as a systems designer at Big Huge Games on Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, and before that at Firaxis on various projects including XCOM: Enemy Unknown. I'm enthusiastic about indie games and self-directed game development, particularly the experimental scene. I think it's the engine of creativity in our industry, and I want to encourage it and participate with it however I can. Glad to meet you all!

Hi there! I've been lurking the forums for quite a while now, but since I decided to start posting and partecipating actively in the community, I thought it was about time to introduce myself properly. My name is Antonio, I'm 24 and I'm a flash developer from Italy. I've used a good deal of the most common programming languages for small to medium scale projects, for university or personal projects, but my favourite is by far actionscript. So far I've released two very simple flash games, currently available on kongregate: Spike-on-a-spring, my very first one, and Meteojump. Other than that, I'm also interest in procedural content creation and fractal art, you can check out my fractal art gallery on DeviantArt. See you around!

My name is Michelle Brodeur and my housemate, Erica McCowan, and I just finished our first year at Algonquin college in Ottawa, ON, Canada, game development. We started working on our first game, Island of Lost Seasons , this pass December.
We are well underway. graphics engine done, object engine done and more.
You can check it out at abyssgames.ca and if you like to help with a donation at indiegogo.com/ils.
This game is a homage to Illusion of Gaia and Zelda: Link to the pass.
Should have it done by August. Students at school like the concept so much we have 2 second year students and 1 3rd just graduated who want to help us out.
So check it out and leave a comment for us.
thanks all

Now I'm just trying to learn flash/unity/ios/C/java so I can transform my wonderful ideas into games and feel joy when I see someone playing my creation like when i worked on a game in GM I felt wonder full when people played my little crappy shootem up game/platfromers.
Anyways thats about it.
