So, this past week I picked up "Anarchy Arcade," a new free-to-play app on Steam. Not really a "game" per se, this program uses the Source engine as a virtual 3D desktop - turning your file system into an interactive experience - and making THAT possible "with online multiplayer."
Your applications become various arcade cabinets and/or workstations. Your music players/libraries become things like turntables, jukeboxes, etc. You can integrate YouTube, Twitch and other things like virtual theaters, including your personal video library. And then you can use its multiplayer to hop into your friends' computers and interact with theirs too. So if you have a game with local multiplayer, you can netplay that game (or emulator) through this application. You can watch TV or movies or internet streams/videos together.
It's totally customizable, and it's TOTALLY FREE.
