What's the point? Shouldn't you read for the pleasure of it? You make it seem like... Ya know... Work!

I aim to be a professional writer, so I'm cool with that.
But keeping track of what you've read and what you will read isn't that much of a hassle, especially since sharing lists of that sort is a cool way to see what cool people are reading.

How to Win Every Argument: The Use and Abuse of Logic It's amazing how frequently people make logical fallacies on a daily basis. I like learning the Latin names for the extra "umph" when pointing them out.

Just finished Cat's Cradle by Vonnegut and started Slaughterhouse Five. Bit late to the Vonnegut game, but so far am liking his stuff.
Also just finished Greg Egan's latest: The Clockwork Rocket. <3 Egan for his awesome mix of science/math with great storytelling. Love turning the page to find a figure explaining some obtuse scientific concept!

Finished The Stand over winter break, just finished 'Salem's lot a few days ago. Now to choose. The Shining, Pet Semetary, or The Gunslinger?
I'm thinking pet semetary.

The only one of those I've read was the stand. I keep hearing that the Dark Tower is King's absolute must read after that, but I can never get into it. Someday, I'll get through it.

I finished the Stand this winter too. I recommend the Dark Tower series (I loved it), but I haven't read Pet Semetary so I wouldn't know to compare. Also: Reading 11/22/63. For such a boring/overused seeming premise, I'm sure liking it. King's a great writer.

Yeah, The Shining was very strong. I'd also recommend Carrie (a girl who gets bullied also happens to have psychokinetic powers; was his first novel) and Cell (everyone who uses a cellphone gets turned into a zombie).

I just started reading A Dance With Dragons. Highly enjoyable, it's been great fun seeing what all my favorite characters are up to. I can't believe there hasn't been a single Bran chapter since SoS.

Apparently in the next one we get all the missing characters back. Hopefully the wait won't be as long for the next book! I am currently reading a book called Seed by Rob Ziegler. Set in a bleak future and also involves biogenetic stuff and living machinery.
