War Games and Their History (C.G. Lewin). Very good. Fantastic photos and descriptions in particular of author's collection of 19th century and early 20th century games. Like a prehistory of TBS/RTS genres.

I'm reading the fabulous Kingkiller Chronicle series by Patrick Rothfuss. I'm just starting book 2 right now - book 1 was so good! I should take my time since I'd have to wait for the 3rd book to come out xD

I'm almost on the middle of Taliesin from the Pendragon cycle by Stephen R. Lawhead. It begins to become quite interesting

Did a lot of reading this week for some reason: plowed through the first two-and-a-half of Sherwood Smith's Inda books, plus Charles Sheffield's Godspeed and Murray Leinster's The Forgotten Planet as light diversion on the side...

The Effects of Noise on Man by Karl D. Kryter It's interesting, but I am struggling with all the math and physics that he is talking about in this first section, but in his prologue he says that it's necessary to understanding the later part, so I'll try my best to understand.

I would definitely take your time, I've been following his blog closely for upwards of 2 years with maybe one or two mentions of the book in all that time I'm re-reading a childhood favourite in Watership Down. Still enjoying it, despite the fact that a) I tend not to read any books more than once except in exceptional cases* and b) I read it multiple times as a child. *"except in exceptional cases" is like one of those phrases that boils down to nothing and gives no actual information whatsoever

So, I just finished Chapterhouse: Dune (the last book in the Dune series by Frank Herbert). This series was probably my favorite series I've ever read. My favorites in the series were probably God Emperor, followed by Chapterhouse.

Going through The Hunger Games trilogy. I guess the movies made Katniss seem more sympathetic because they didn't show her narcissistic, hypocritical, sociopathic inner monologue. Unlikable protagonist, simplistic plot, paper cutout secondary characters, world that makes no sense. Three sad pandas, would not read again.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms
The story happens 90 years before the first ASOIF (Game of Thrones) book. It's a compilation of short tales about the adventures of Dunk a hedge knight and Egg, his squire. Of course the original novel is way better, but I'm really enjoying so far.

A whole lot of things...
Game Feel by Steve Swink (gamedev book)
2312 by Kim Robinson (neat scifi book)
Spice & Wolf Vol 10 by Isuna Hasekura (if you enjoyed the anime seriously read the books it's awesome)
It's complicated by Danah Boyd (idk why I'm reading this really... about younger gen & social networks)
& A continuous supply of gamedev blogposts that get linked in my Twitter timeline...

Just finished Snow Crash, there was some cool ideas, like the metaverse and a low level spoken language that could fuck around with our brains, and the ideas tied together pretty well. Only things I had issue with was the writing jumping around a lot and the conclusion didn't really exist, the book just ended.

I'm reading the first Game of Thrones book, and yes, I did watch the TV show first... Otherwise, I'm reading a load of articles on how reflection works.

Read Burning Chrome because it was a short story, now I understand why the game Black Ice looks the way it does.

I started Tactical Dispositions, the fourth chapter in the Art of War by Sun Tzu. I've read a lot of interesting remarks about this book for quite some time (two years to be exact) so I went out and bought a physical copy, for the sake of reading from a book and not a monitor.
