Finished reading Catcher in the Rye recently, was an amazing, touching little read. Now I'm on some dark Nancy Huston book.
I read catcher in the rye a few years back. It was a fine book, didn't really touch me on a personal level and felt rather overrated.

That's one awesome book, read it again some time ago.
I keep meaning to re-read 1984, but I can't bring myself to do it. It's just so overwhelmingly claustrophobic and depressing. One of my favorite books tho.

If you read 1984, also read Huxley. It's a more, hmm, accurate description of modern society.
You mean brave new world? That guy wrote that in the 20s. Pretty crazy ahead of his time. Though last time I checked people weren't all raised in incubation tubes and sterilized in modern society quite yet. I heard somewhere that Tim Burton is directing the new 1984 movie. Going to be interesting to see where he goes with it, and how he fucks it up adding his trademark whimsy and flair to the generally dark story.

Legends from the End of Time by Michael Moorcock. I've heard so much about him but this is the first of his stuff I've actually read. It's just as awesome as I expected.

Currently reading: World War Z by Max Brooks. I'm not a huge fiction reader so World War Z writing style fits me.
Next on the list: - Bird by Bird by Anne Lamott (about fiction writing, but also useful for game design etc.) - a book on Civil War

I just finished reading "In Defense of Food" by Michael Pollan, and I am about 1/3-1/2 of the way through "The Omnivore's Dilemma" by Michael Pollan as well.
Cryptonomicon or Snow Crash are next on the list I do believe.

I recently finished Gibson's "Burning Chrome" and Hurbert's "Dune Messiah" and "Children of Dune", and now I'm reading "Nightfall" by Asimov and Silverberg.
I've finally found some libraries with books in English that I can checkout, so I've been plowing through a book every week or two the past few months to make up for lost reading time.

At the moment, I'm reading a classic... The Scarlet Pimpernel. I just finished 'From the Earth to the Moon' but haven't had much time to read as of late so I'm not sure when I ca finish Scarlet Pimpernel. XD

Previous Age is pretty good, though I like his earlier stuff better than all that postmodern claptrap he's gotten into recently.

"Algorithmic Architecture" by Kostas Terzidis. I'm just at the start thus I cannot say much about the book yet.
Any thoughts on the book so far ? Been thinking of picking it up myself .

I've been reading World War Z since October, but haven't had time to read anything at all. I'm at least 2/3 through the book at this point, and hopefully I'll finish reading it by the end of this year.
