What??? Why on earth did you honor a quiz like that?
I just started A. Scott Berg's biography of Maxwell Perkins. Pretty interesting so far. It made me pull out my copy of Look Homeward, Angel by Thomas Wolfe, which I wrote my senior paper on in high school. Back then it seemed so dense and convoluted--I had a hard time writing the paper--but now, just flipping through it, I see how I must have been the dense one. Weird how your perception of a book can change in six years. I want to find my old paper to see what asinine things I wrote about it, but I'm scared.

Bite the bullet! A month ago I found all the cripplingly embarassing short stories I wrote as a teenager. It may be uncomfortable but it's interesting to "meet" your younger self again, see what made you tick.

Yeah dude, my younger self was so much more badass than I am. We try to stay in touch, though.

Hahaha! Was it good though? I'm really in love with Tolkien lore and seriously want to tackle it some day. Some day when I have more time and energy for big books.... I'm still recovering from getting through Infinite Jest. I'm about to start The Amber Spyglass (last in the His Dark Materials Trilogy). I'm beyond excited to see where the story goes, and also kind of scared/sad to finish it. Pullman hasn't really been "lenient" on his characters so far, I can imagine there will be a lot of tears in this last volume

Wife just picked up 'John Dies at the End', and I heard fairly good things about it. Hoping she finishes it soon.

Every X-men comic. I calculated that if I read 90/month(3/day) I can catch up in 6 months.

I got a few chapters into The Amazing Adventures Of Kavalier And Clay before I suddenly got busy and forgot about it, still carrying it around with me so odds are good I'll pick it back up again soon.

The Gods Of Mars for the umpteenth time now. I've been meaning to track a new copy down for a while, the cover came off a long time ago and the entire thing is a dog-eared mess. One of these days.
