Just tried the demo, played it to the end. Super cool stuff I get a Cave Story / Treasure Adventure Game vibe from it. The level design is pretty great so far. I did not know, however, where I should go after my first encounter with the dudes in the village. I ended up backtracking all the way back to the first ruins, then to the village again, only to realize I could jump on that pipe. The last section (well, the one before the end) was nicely challenging. You should probably make these spikes more visible, though. I instinctively thought it was safe ground and crashed on them a couple times. Keep it up!

thanks for playing! just watched your video, and I know we didn't explain it in the game but UP arrow is to interact with stuff. So you CAN enter the houses and you can find a sword by messing around in the village. Then D key is to attack once you've obtained the sword, so you can kill those baddies after the village.

This game looks a lot like Momodora. Not a bad thing. But it looks a ton like Momodora:
Did you get inspiration from that game?
Yes! I really enjoyed momodora 3 and, along with Cave Story, it inspired me to start this project. Just curious, was the camera you used in this game inspired by the Yoshi's island camera? It seems similar to how it used to give more viewing area to the area that you're facing.
Yes I programmed the camera to look slightly ahead of where you are facing. You should probably make these spikes more visible, though. I instinctively thought it was safe ground and crashed on them a couple times. Keep it up!
spike graphics are placeholder for right now, so sorry about that!

Just tried the demo. Artstyle and animations are really cute and it's all enjoyable experience from start to finish The only thing I didn't like was the anti-aliased text. Every other bit is pixeled very crisp, the text just looks a bit out of place with its soft edges.

Demo! The intro platforming was bit long for my taste. Still love the look. I ended up getting stuck on spikes but not dying? Also, this: push S to auto populate all of the text. dear god please.
Good luck! -Del

holding S makes the text scroll faster! i still read faster than it scrolls, and i read like old people fuck. S for instant text, and make it scroll fast anyway. why would you make anyone wait to read the text? also its hard to tell where you can jump on the pipes/houses sometimes. the hitbox doesnt match the size of the sprite.

Made some dialogue boxes This is probably very nitpicky, and you may have already improved on this (haven't played the demo yet), but rather than using "haha" as text, I think you might rather do something like: (Chuckle) Words words words. That way, we can imagine the laughter ourselves. Also, reading, "haha" makes me feel like I'm reading a text message from a friend :p Other than that, enjoying it so far!

Cute, hah. Will there be any point to it, like maybe if you had to bring it to somebody or something?
Nice work on this so far.
