Hey guys,

Fmod is great but it's documentation says that it won't work with unity's web player. Any decent alternatives? Game is quite small but we want complex audio system with interactive music etc. So... what do we do now?

Have you looked at Wwise? Not sure exactly what your needs are, but it appears to play nicely with Unity.

I was going to suggest Wwise too. But from what I've read on forums they say it doesn't work with Unity Web Player. I don't know of any other middleware programs though.

Check out Fabric: http://www.tazman-audio.co.uk

It claims to run on any platform that unity supports

I have not used it myself, but I remember them talking about it in episode 4 of the podcast Beards, Cats and Indie Game Audio.

I have a beard, one stupid cat and something to do with indie games so I guess it's for me. Thanks!

Fabric is designed to go straight into Unity rather than being a standalone middleware that is between the game and the music. So would definitely recommend it for this!

Although I am an Fmod fangirl Wink

I am using Fabric on a project atm - I can only say good things about it!

There is also Master Audio (purchaseable through the Unity Store which is a more basic middleware but still miles ahead of the basic Unity Audio).

For more complex music system - Fabric would be my recommendation.
