Pretty good box art, really tells a lot about the game and makes me excited to play it.

To be honest the cartridge art isn't very readable nor pleasant to look at. Pixel art at that scale rarely is especially with pixel sizes all over the place. The main problem is the lack of contrast in the background and foreground, it's all the same intensity.

Your game art is on a completely different level so I'm not sure what happened..

Not to mention that NES game boxes just didn't feature pixel art on the front.

The black box games did http://videogameobsession.com/videogame/nesboxes/nes_black_boxes-01.jpg

Another problem with this cover art is that your game is far away from NES graphics so having a NES style box doesn't make much sense.

This is very true. If you look at the black box titles closely, you'll see they used angles and effects that weren't available in the actual NES. If you were to emulate the style of the black box titles, you could do so without just taking a screenshot from your game. Feel free to take some core pixel graphics from your game into Photoshop, and doctor them up a bit.

While you were judging boxart, the real villain got away.
The pillowshading.

I cant even count the colors on that golden thing because some colors may be slightingly different. Tree-four colors would be enough even in 16-bit game.

I find it sort of strange that the art you used on the box is different to in the game? But this is just a personal thing that I notice.

I would have done a silly painting similar to Megaman 1&2's for the retro box art, but the game is looking quite awesome. Lovely sprites!  Gentleman
