Sure Diving makes sense to you, but you have to remember that to the average player, crawling is just more intuitive. You have to TELL the player that they can dive through holes or else they might waste time trying to figure out how to crawl.
Other then that, this looks badass.

No big deal. Tutorial level introductions always take care of issues like that.

there won't be any tutorial levels I always loved how in super metroid, you could find animals that would demonstrate the speed boosters, wall jump, etc. I think that's absolutely the way to go with teaching slightly obscure maneuvers, especially if they're not mandatory for finishing the game (which the dive/slide won't be )

I keep clicking this thread expecting it to be some sort of crazy shmup game... I guess "Twinsen" sounds very shmuppy to me. there won't be any tutorial levels I always loved how in super metroid, you could find animals that would demonstrate the speed boosters, wall jump, etc. I think that's absolutely the way to go with teaching slightly obscure maneuvers, especially if they're not mandatory for finishing the game (which the dive/slide won't be ) I always loved Super Metroid's way of guiding the player without use of any narration, text, or stopping the play. Mario galaxy also has a smooth approach to this by having characters act out motions near specific things, like having a Bee do the ground pound jump next to a stack of stones. So if you can pull that off nicely, it would be quite awesome.

Bit of a bump, but I guess it's fairly interesting news. well, not really news, I just watched a couple TAS's today and felt like trying something interesting in level I just made the other day. As you can see, I was aiming for a no hit, no damage run.. but i got hit right at the end

Great work .TakaM. Twinsen has progressed nicely beyond the "pilot episode" demo.

Wow, just wow! This reminds me of all the hours I've spent playing Twinsen's Odyssey... exploring new places, planets... Of course I don't expect your game to have the mood of its predecessors but anyway - it's good to see Twinsen's reincarnation in such a cute style.

Hey wow. I loved Twinsen and when I saw this I was totally hoping it was what I thought it was. Love it. Fluid animation and a return to the old setting. The one criticism I have is that you shoulda used low poly graphics like the original, but other than that I'm looking forward to it.

I hope you won't get into any legal trouble and so on, this game looks great!! Little Big Adventure 1 & 2 were great games back in the day.

Why? Only so that it looks more like the original games? No reason for that. I haven't played the originals, but I'm loving the aesthetics in this game, even though it looks like a rather traditional platformer. I really enjoy traditional platformers if they're done well, though.
