Kojima should do a Power Rangers game to tease you all.
I'd actually love that, maybe.

Actually I'll be completely happy if Kojima doesn't get his hands on Silent Hill.
I like the guy, I think he's great. But he is absolutely the wrong man for a SH game. Same goes for Del Toro.

I don't know man, PT was still miles ahead of any Silent Hill game in recent years. We are not going to get the team that made SH2 back, so I'm fine with a radical directional shift if its actually done well for once.
If Kojima really is leaving, I wonder who will take the reins on Silent Hills. Del Toro has tried to do games in the past but they usually end up in development hell. I think Kojima's lack of involvement could be a big problem. There's clearly some talented artists behind Silent Hills, but without a Kojima type to see the thing through, it might not materialize into an actual game.

Kojima likes to screw with players, its his main trait. To balance it he also likes dumb exposition that feel like wikipedia dumps. Im pretty sure Silent Hills would end with someone explaining whole thing in a cutscene.

PT was better than post team silent SH games, but if you're going to take something in a direction that barely resembles it's predecessors you may as well just make a new series. Not saying radical new directions are at all a bad thing but it's important to still retain the same sense of style.

Hey, now we get another medium-sized japanese studio run by a long-time developer. The last time one of the big Japanese studios pushed out their veteran directors, we got Platinum Games.
My prediction: Hideo Kojima and Guillermo Del Toro immediately set about making a giant robot game.

Hired by platinum game. Financed by nintendo who need hardcore games. If jap dev continue bleeding out as more and more jap game company bails out of gaming, I can see nintendo resurrecting it by absorbing or supporting those dev like they did with platinum and drunken master Tomonobu Itagaki. STRETCHED SPECULATION JUST HAPPEN I should write nintendo fiction by that point

Too bad "japanese gaming" nowadays is 90% pervy anime vita rpgs. Although I can see Kojima working on a new Senran Kagura or Hypedimension Neptunia, he likes some sweet creepy exploitation.

Not this falsehood again. Japanese gaming is not dead. And they are still releasing better games than over here in America.
