Hello fellow indies, and especially anyone located in/around the Midwest!

For the past few years we've been involved with Maker Faire Detroit, one of the larger Maker Faire events in the country. For the uninitiated, Maker Faires are catch-all events put on to feature interesting projects that involve pretty much any combination of art, science and engineering. We've shown off everything from student projects to early versions of full games we have in production, and we've had a pretty great time each year we've done it.

This year, the Henry Ford Museum (the location of the event) has acquired (and will be showing off) one of the original Apple 1 computers for its collection, and they want to put a bit more emphasis on digital projects for this years show, especially video games.

Submitting a project to be considered for display at the show is free of charge, and if your submission is accepted, the table space and participation in the event is free as well. Maker Faire will provide wifi, electricity and table space, and you will have to bring pretty much anything else you would need to do demos on your own (PCs, Monitors, ect).

They are most interested in interactive projects, so anything you'd like to share at the show should be in some kind of playable state in time for the event, but showing works in progress is completely acceptable, and even encouraged. Keep in mind however that this is a very family focused event (you will see a lot of parents with their kids here if you make it to the show) so anything that would be considered M rated content wouldn't be a very good fit for this event.

If you have any questions about the show, feel free to post them here, and if you'd like more info on the show in general, check out this link:

Once you've done that, check out the sign up link here to register. Make sure you correctly indicate the stuff you will need for your demo setup on the sign up form (electricity/wifi, ect), and if you could type "Cubicorn Games" into the referral section, we'd really appreciate it. We don't actually get anything for referring people, but I promised the show organizers that we'd try to spread the word and get more video games at the show, so I'd just like them to know if anyone registers by way of info from us.

That should do it for basic info, thanks for checking out this post, and hopefully we'll build an even stronger indie presence at this year's show!

Looks great!

Have a sports game in the works so I might consider submitting that.

Awesome, glad to hear it!

Give it a shot, its a pretty cool event, and if you've never been to the Henry Ford Museum before, its got a pretty amazing collection of things to check out even when Maker Faire isn't going on.
