FacebookWebsiteWhat is Observer?Observer is a first person adventure game being developed by AeroJoust. Who are AeroJoust? We are a Finnish-Dutch duo of game developers. We previously worked together on Qbeh, a puzzle game inspired by Portal and Minecraft. BackstoryAfter yet another hard day at work you make your way down that old familiar hallway and step on that old familiar elevator. But something is off. Instead of the elevator taking you down to the old familiar parking garage, you step out inside a castle torn from its earthly roots. Now you make your way through several worlds, each stranger than the last, unstuck in time and space. VideosThird trailerScreenshots

The player solves environment-centric puzzles with a simple, unchanging control scheme of WASD to move and mouse click to interact. The player needs to do some exploring to find said puzzles, of course. We're making sure that the player doesn't get bored in the worlds and always has new stuff to find, be it environmental storytelling stuff or fun easter eggs. Wow! This looks like a great and pretty huge game! Would love to see how this progresses!
The game will have 10 levels, counting in "breather" levels in between. Fun fact: Each level is either inspired by a song or my abandoned design concepts from the past 2-3 years.

Echoing the other comment about Myst. Hope the gameplay will be just as challenging and interesting!

I'm totally getting a "The Witness" vibe from this game! Would that be a fair assumption?

I think we and Blow draw inspiration from the same (or at least similar) sources, so I'd say it's a fair assumption. Dude, the music alone is getting me excited for this game! Great work so far, guys! Looking good! Hoping the gameplay is just as good, if not better!
The musics and sound design are done by this talented fellow, who also makes up for 50% of AeroJoust! As for the gameplay, we're aiming to have the puzzles be as varied as the environments.

Woah another screenshot saturday, time sure flies I guess! Wanted to have some shots of the catacombs done for this week, but I had to rework the area from scratch. So here's a couple of shots of what I've got done so far to make up for it. Also would a dev blog be something that people would read?

The underwater catacombs. Taking influence from French, Roman and Etruscan funeral rites and catacombs (with a dash of rule of cool). Been also adding in some easter eggs, including a reference to Stephen King's The Dark Tower series.

Not the best time to be posting new stuff since E3 is in full swing, but I'm gonna be in England on (Screenshot) Saturday, so I'm doing my TIGSourcery before I leave.
