I did a longer writeup over here, but the short version of TIGSource hosting:

- These days TIGSource lives on a $10/mo VPS at Digital Ocean

- That's a referral link! It gives you $10 credit on signup and then $25 to this account once you spend $25.

- If you're looking at hosting for your projects, the $5/mo tier will probably cover your needs.  I'd recommend ServerPilot for server management and to set up the initial Apache/Nginx/MySQL/etc stack.

Happy to answer any hosting/tech questions here!

You mean, is TIGSource still hosted on Digital Ocean?  Yeah, is--chugs along on the $10/mo tier.

Right on -- I meant the referral link. I bought a DO droplet earlier this year for some game testing. Will keep the Tig link in mind for future use.

This is actually quite useful! I've been using ServInt for several years, and they've been great, but I have plans to greatly scale down the amount of content I'm hosting. This means I'm looking at something with fewer resources, and with a smaller price tag.

Do you know if Digital Ocean/ServerPilot can operate as an email server? I send and receive a lot of my mail through various accounts on my KalebGrace.com domain, and while I could bite the bullet and move entirely to Gmail or something, I still need to make sure I can at least still receive mail coming to this domain.

Anyway, nice thread and I'll be checking out Digital Ocean in more detail soon! =}

EDIT: Found this Digital Ocean article about email servers. I'm going to try going with the free Zoho Mail.

A little bit of a necro post - but want to +1 for Digital Ocean.
I host quite a few clients on them, and have never had any issues. I use a mixture of serverpilot and laravel forge, depending on the project.
