Hey guys! So I've always liked glitchy/VHS/low poly/ aesthetics when it is done right. I am not really sure how this artistic approach is called. I am really interested in implementing this type of graphics into my project. Any suggestions, resources, examples and maybe some helpful terminology (for googling purposes  Shrug).

My project is an action-based, fast paced 2d sidescrolling game (maybe some specific info on 2d?  Well, hello there!)

VHS-style glitching works by shifting the horizontal rows making up the image. In severe case you may get discoloration as well (but usually preserving the brightness). In extreme cases the image data ends up all over the place as the TV is trying to figure out where the beam should be.

In practice whether or not this is the best for the effect you intend to have depends, so look into other stuff as well.
