Mobius Digital is currently looking for a full-time, in-house Art Director to join our independent game studio in the Arts District of Los Angeles. We make games wild and wonderful: come explore with us. You can read more about us mobiusdigitalgames.com/press.

While our first two games have been for mobile devices, our next title will be a 3D game slated for PC/Mac/Linux. While the core game mechanics have already been conceived, art is one area where the game can really grow and change, and we’re looking for an Artistic Director who can get their hands dirty in the project as well helping bring this game to life.

ABILITIES WE’RE LOOKING FOR

CONCEPTING: You can work with the creative director to establish a prevailing aesthetic for the game and create assets that communicates that vision clearly.
LEADERSHIP: You can work with artists both in-house and on-contract to achieve the established aesthetic, giving feedback and direction with thoughtfulness and passion throughout the entire production process to make this game beautiful.
VERSATILITY: You’ve dabbled in all streams of the art pipeline in 2D/3D. You can give a helping hand to a model or a texture when necessary. You understand all aspects of what your art team needs to make things happen.
STYLE: You have a strong sense of what works in a game. When our creative director gives you an image or video for inspiration, you offer two back. You’re weird and wild, just like us, and you’re not afraid to show it.
ADAPTABILITY: You’re comfortable with the process of iterative design that making a game requires, and you’re not afraid to change your vision with that design. You welcome feedback and are excited to participate in an open creative process.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Creating concept art that defines the aesthetic of the game
  • Communicating with artists, designers, producers, and engineers to make sure all art assets are created and functioning properly in-engine.
  • Working in-engine to polish and craft environments
  • Assisting in the creation of 2D and 3D assets

SOFTWARE PACKAGES/EXPERIENCE
We would expect you to be able to demonstrate kickass Photoshop/Illustrator skills as well as Maya proficiency. We would love you forever if that included animation skills as well. Any Unity experience or knowledge would be a big plus, but don’t worry, we can teach you!

Please send your portfolio, resume, & any additional info to [email protected].
