I think this is the best idea so far.
Also, not to be a dick or anything, it's homunculus not homonculus.

That's a fantastic idea. I imagine lots of gauges and valves to control your body's internals, and a difficult time controlling visits to the toilet.

Man, I knew I shouldn't have dropped out of Latin halfway through the semester.

Why would you need to actually use the toilet? Couldn't you just go inside the bathroom and simulate the sounds to make it appear that way?

Will this be a story-driven adventure game, or more like a goal-based thing like a platformer (with story accompaniment)? I think it would be funny if, at the end, our hero decides that it is time to reveal the truth to the people whose trust he has gained, and they freak out, scream in horror, grab him and.......
...... fit him with a tiny toupee - all that he really needed all along. <3
(You needn't do that of course - I just see so many hilarious directions that this situation could go in. I can't wait to see how it turns out!)

You have to simulate eating stuff, so why not digest it as well? Your power has to come from somewhere.

I'll probably stay away from digesting and body internals. I figured out a graphic style: I'd like a fully-illustrated cockpit, but I'll have everything external drawn in old-school vector style graphics, as displayed by Herman's "external sensors." It'll make it easier to provide more content, I think, and I hope it'll give a nice mixed-media kind of look. I did a quick Herman when I woke up this morning:

You'd think that, living inside another human being and all, Herman would be wearing less clothes or something. (Or technician's clothing or something)
Can't wait to see his body!

Can't wait to see his body! Microphilia. Still considered a mental illness.

This is going to be way delayed on account of preparing for my research (hurray for NSERC grants!), doing schoolwork and trying to finish off (read: start) another project beforehand, as well as various social obligations over the coming weeks.
So I'll probably miss the competition deadline, but the project is not dead.

I hope you finish the project, even if it's not for the competition because it looks really interesting.

Starting in a month and a bit, it is going to be algebraic number theory, which I am frantically brushing up on.
