Project Splash is a shooter-fighting party game, where you play different cartoony characters and throw your opponents out of the stage using your jetpack and water gun. It was originally our Ludum Dare 31 Jam Entry and we decided to continue the development after it.

Here is our line-up of characters:

You can find a totally playable prototype here: http://gamejolt.com/games/project-splash/61633#

Instructions:
  • Download the prototype Project Splash related to your OS
  • Plug your controllers (Standard controllers like Xbox or Playstation and even some Logitech should work)
  • Run the game
  • On the Characters' Selection Menu, you must have at least two players confirmed. To select a Controller Type and then a Character, Press A (on Xbox controller) or SPACE (for keyboard)

Controls (playable with keyboards/mouse or controller):
  • Move: Left Stick horizontal or AD for keyboard
  • Jetpack: Left Stick up or W for keyboard
  • Shoot water: Right Stick or Left-Click with Mouse

Team:

Don't hesitate to ask questions, give feedbacks, or report bugs.

Cat Mountain must be a tourist attraction. Is there any narrative behind the world? Also you can use width=700 in you image tag to ensure it fits in the feed Smiley

No real narrative. When winning, character will have a quote, but not much more. We're thinking about a solo-mode as a boss rush, but we first concentrate our efforts on the multiplayer mode.
PS: Thanks for the tip  Smiley

This looks like it's got real potential! I'm sure there are some graphical updates to be done, but this looks like great fun.

Yeah, the graphics did not change since the gamejam, but after gamescom, Kevin will have time to work on it.

New Update
So we manage to put a playable new version for the tournament that we organize the 27th of Augustm where we had a lot of minor bugs (horrible respawn, unable to move correctly on Mechanica moving platforms, ...), but also a lot of positive feed-backs (the spectacular dash down)

Like written on the previous post, a lot has been done in the graphics of the game. Here a comparaison for the cat:

And some gifs for the other characters:

We change some things in the gameplay. First, shooting is no more a flux, but a projectile:
Second, you can dash down an opponent:
Third, we added items:
  • Mega-Gun:
  • Double-Gun:
  • Mirror Shield:

We also manage to put together the Team Versus Mode, but it was not stable and fun enough to make a tournament of its own:

We didn't manage to add levels, but we reskinned them.

The 26th and 27th of September, we will show the game in Geneva for the Plaine des Jeunes event (https://www.facebook.com/events/865634473473795/) and to SuisseToy (http://suissetoy.ch/). We will start a greenlight at the end of the month, so we will keep you updated, So our goal for this month:
  • Add two new levels (Lucha libre and Haunted House. Making it 5 levels in total)
  • Refactor some water and physics gameplay (We still need some adjustements to the make the water a bit more fun)
  • Two new items (Buble thrower and Water-Bomb thrower)
  • Refactor the respawn
  • Reskin clouds
