Hi, I'm new at pixel art and I'd like to have your opinion on my sprites.
I'm working on a game where you play a shaolin tofu trying to save the samosa princess from the evil Dr Wrust.
I wanted 16x16 sprites and use only 3 colors and an optional 4th for the white of the eyes when needed.
All this to keep a retro-look and ease the drawing and animation as I'm new to it.

Here a the 3 main characters.
What do you think ?

Looks pretty good for someone's first pixel art. You should practice with larger sprites too and maybe add some shadows/shading. I'm looking forward to seeing some art from you.

I worked a bit on the main character.. testing several different styles.
I think I'll take the right-most one.


Moreover, while trying to create some enemy I came with the following one:

At first, it reminded me the goomba from mario, but there are quite different.
There are both mushroom shaped but that's all.
I'm pretty sure I saw a sprite that looked similar(mushroom-like with big mouth) in some game but I can't remember where.
Anyone has an idea of the game ? I just want to avoid using something too similar.

And both are brown, both have no arms/nose, both look angry.

animate them now, only once animated they will have value. good luck
