@McMutton: Thats great man, are the other charters going to be getting mouths? @Solar Lune: The bodys' at 555 tris, and the head is 262 tris. The base mesh had around 410 all together. @Halcyon: Thanks, its coming along a lot better then i though it would. Heres an update [edit] Quoting this for new page I forgot to post about my nifty eye rig: Each eye has two bones, one that follows where the character looks, and another that only follows 50% of the way. The iris is rigged to the 50% bone, the pupil to the full one, and anything in-between is, well, in between the two. So I get this nice little effect.

Started on a player model. This is the unfinished base mesh I made. Im pretty happy with it so far, its the first person I've ever modeled. He started life as a hexagon cylinder. You may not care about my pathetic opinion, but the thing I don't like about this human are polygons combined with quads. Truly pointless. Additionally, with the triangles being in your model, you won't be able (or will be much much MUCH harder) to add some details yourself. ( I mean the places where triangles are ). What program are you using?

You kidding? Quads and tris are more useful in different situations, and the whole thing can be triangulated later for use in-engine regardless.
Add more details meaning what? For texturing, edge splits work the same for quads and tris in any sane program, and something that low poly is unlikely to be used for sub-division modelling.
I'm more irked by the odd leg geo.
Head is looking nice fwiw Delko.
Spinning gif of silhouette would be nice.

The legs have me a bit stumped, when i try to add more geo they just end up looking like sausages.

Try adding a loop to the center of the thigh and bringing it forward, and then one to the center of the shin and bringing it back. It'll give you a nice S shape.

Distances and sizes are not to scale, because otherwise you wouldn't be able to see any details at all. That's also why there's no significant cloud cover on any of the planets. (Besides, if you're going to complain about realism, complain about the double-rings, or the moon that's made out of ruby!)

hows this? This is really cool. Only suggestion I have is to make the land directly next to the crater(is it a crater if the a chunk ripped OFF instead of crashed into it?) look more burnt and ruined.

You know, it'd be sweet if the shadowing/colors on that tank were done in real-time in a shader. Done in the same pixel art style, of course. The other details could just use a pixelated normal/bump map.

That actually would be a good idea, and is something that I was considering with someone else not too long ago. It would be a cool effect.

If I write a shader that does self-shadowing and A/O I'll let you know and tweak it to use "pixelly" settings. Anyways, I tried this new 3d gallery service and it's neato- There is a new way to show your models now, everyone should try P3D. Here is an early version of a model for my game: http://p3d.in/Nov4L/wireonxray+spin
