I recently got a drawing tablet to draw up some tiles for a game with, as well as fan art and whatnot.  I saw another tig user who hand draws his tiles do a speedpaint on youtube -- link:

-- in the description he wrote "Quick way to do seamless textures" and the video shows him flipping? the texture around.  Not sure what's being done or how it works but can someone explain?

Thanks.

In Photoshop go to Filters > Other > Offset. Then he's just pressing Ctrl+F to repeat the filter

Do you mind explaining to me how this works or what it does?  I don't own photoshop and I don't know what the offset filter does.

Edit:  I use krita for my drawing but I am also comfortable with gimp.  Do either of these softwares have a method to create
seamless tiles?

Edit2:  After using google like a good boy  Shrug found that krita has a wrap around mode that would be helpful.
