yeah I think a lot of monarchists don't realize that abolishing monarchy as a system doesn't like
mean that the royal family gets guillotined and the pretty tourist spots torn down

we actually went 1 step further and abolished nobility too. that means there are no official noble titles. 

anyway, tourist spots are still up and running after almost 100 years (as mentioned in my previous post) but the living members of the habsburg family are beyond irrelevant (as in, not even gossip mags care much about them) and their former palaces are now state owned. otoh the habsburgs were deposed as a result of austria's defeat in WW1 so itd probably be different if monarchy was abolished peacefully.
